In section 25 on the application is asks for dates of off previous visits or or residence in the United States. My husband has come over every weekend since we met (2 1/2 years) We only live 60 miles from each other. He comes as a visitor each time. How specific do we need to be about the actual dates of these visits?

Be as specific as you can or as truthful as memory serves you.

Head over to the Canada forums... this is constantly asked over there. Its basically considered a Canada specific issue.

I am in the same boat as you and was confused about this question too. My fiance and I live 200 miles from one another and have been seeing each other since 2005. So there isn't room to list the likely 100 or so visits to the US I've made over the years.

I put "Multiple weekend visits beginning in 2005."

I can't say for sure if that's the correct way of doing it, but I did just get confirmation from the consulate in Montreal that I can proceed to book and interview, so I think that's a good sign.

Best of luck!

When we filled out the online visa application form DS260 (CR1/IR1 like you) there was only room for about 5 trips so we listed the last 5 drips in decending order. Now following the advice of other son this forum we also filled out the paper version (DS230) of the form which says to attach a list and list all trips. So we listed all we could and ended off with a statement that this was the best she could remember and that she never lived, worked or stayed longer then a couple weeks in the US and signed/dated the paper).

When we got to the interview in Montreal this past April 2012 they never asked us for the paper form (DS230), so never even saw the list of many trips going back to the 70s, and everything was approved no problems. Can't say your experience will be the same but if they see 2 pages of trips they are not going to check them all or even question it. You live so close it is expected you see eachother every week or so.

Take care and know that this process does end! My wife and 3 step kids are moving down next week!!! :)

We were told that the intent of this question is to determine if there have been any overstays. They also said that they were quite aware that it would be virtually impossible for Canadians to itemize this question so all they wanted was a brief description and maximum amount of time stayed. We put "Multiple visits but none lasting longer than 3 weeks". I wouldn't sweat this question.

Thank you all so much for the input. We'll just put the last few visits and explain that the longest he's been here is one week.

Hi, I had a similar issue, and my fiance's father (who is a lawyer) suggested we use this language:

"X and Y met in March 2008 while both were attending graduate school at XXX. Since graduating, X has traveled to (city) to see Y on several occasions, including (but not limited to):

• December 2008

• March 2009

• April 2009

• May 2009

Y also travelled to (city) to visit X on some occasions as well, including (but not limited to):

• December 2008

• February 2009

• May 2009"

etc...

As you can see, we included months (not specific dates), and only listed those were were certain of. We figured it would be better to only include those we were certain of so as not to risk accidentally lying, especially since the overall number was so large.

We just received our NOA2 without RFE, so this must have been sufficient!

Good luck!
