I'm making this separate thread from the Photos thread because I wanted to be sure everyone read this.

I just noticed that we actually have an "attachment allowance" here in the new VJ. Our storage space for attachments/pics is only 200K, which isn't a lot. If you look in "My Controls" you'll see a link to "Manage Attachments which tells you how much of the 200K allowance you have used...if you posted a pic or attachment from your computer, then your allowance diminishes. 200K isn't a whole lot so if you're attaching pics etc. from your computer rather than posting a URL from a hosting site (which does NOT use any of your 200K allowance) then once you're 200K is used up, you'll have to end up deleting some of the attachments you've previously posted. And they will no longer show in the posts, ya know? Am I making you understand this well? LOL Am I clear enough?

Looks like we ALL would benefit from getting an account at a photo hosting site, uploading our pics to that and then simply posting the URL to a particular photo here to share it with others.

I noticed that this am. The problem I have is that I can't view the pics you post (say that 3 times fast) from those sites. I miss all of the wench's smilies :crying:

Good point, thanks. I uploaded a couple of PDFs this afternoon by mistake and just went to delete them. In point of fact the limit is 1000K, but those 3 had used up 50% of my quota already.

D.M. I swear to ya that yesterday when I posted that thread that the allowance WAS only 200K!!! I know I wasn't seeing things, I'm willing to bet that when the Captain read my post about it he UPPED the quota! :lol:

Matter of fact, I'm going to ASK him so I don't wonder if I'm going insane! :whistle:

OUR COMPLETE TIMELINE

Latest steps:

10/26/2006- Consulate receives case (seriously, one month to receive the case?? BS!), and packet 3 that I sent even before they had received the case.

01/02/2007- Interview!!!!!!!!!!!!! Got a 221(g)

01/23/2007- Second Interview. VISA granted!!!

01/29/2007- VISA arrived.... no envelope though. I'm gonna contact them and see what happened this time!

01/31/2007- I'll have to send them one last financial support evidence.

02/01/2007- Evidence sent

02/02/2007- Evidence received by Consulate

02/06/2007- Consulate sends envelope!

02/07/2007- Envelope received!!!

02/10/2007- Flew to the USA!!!!!!

04/17/2007- Wedding day!!!

yeah it appears that you can only post the link TO the pic with inageshack, if that's the case you're better off using photobucket.com and making an account. :yes:

I'm gonna upload a pic to imageshack right now and see....

Ok so you CAN post the pic directly to VJ as I did above with imageshack.com - you must copy and paste the URL from the bottom of the 5 URLs to choose from in imageshack when you upload your pic. Copy and paste the URL that has " Direct link to image" beside it! :yes:
