Many thanks for that link, it's really helpful. I have already been filling out the overwhelming form DS-230 & will be ordering my police report & getting vaccines done shortly...I just wanted to ask about the I-134? My fiance was going to submit all his recent pay cheques, he earns over 6 figures & until I can work in the US, I will be living off savings & his support. Are his pay cheques enough evidence as I keep reading differing answers & now see that a tax return copy would also be beneficial?

Thanks

For proof of income I am taking

- tax transcripts

- letter from employer (how long there, position held, salary etc)

- pay slips

I would suggest you ask questions in the thread linked above though.

Good luck with the rest of the process

Hope not, I just got an appointment letter yesterday for interview on Tuesday, can't believe it, I was absolutely sure my interview would not be until the end of August at the earliest, I panicked but I am now ready with hotel and train booked.

Definitely be prepared to wait a bit at the tube stations and build in extra time to get around. Good luck!

I had no idea you could phone & check on whether the embassy had sent your packet yet...I wasn't about to call the embassy with their 1.23p per minute phone number! I saw the phone number Nich-Nick posted yesterday so I am definitely going to call. I know my case was sent to London by the NVC on the 18th & I got my LND number...

As recommended by kittylondon, I phoned DOS using skype, for 3.5 mins I paid 0.11£!!!! so would strongly recommending buying some credit for it and use it that way! ;)

I seem to be one of the only ones waiting for there interview affected by the Olympics?

I sent my packet3, DS2001 and covering letter on July 6th and I'm still waiting to hear an interview date. For the last two weeks when I phone them all they say is I'm eligible for an interview, but no date has been set. A few friends on here have got interview dates at short notice, next week, but I'm still waiting?

I was hoping to be out there mid August, as my son's school starts August 24th and I was hoping to get him settled in first. My 'window' is getting smaller and smaller. :(

Ok, so it may not be the olympics slowing me down.

I just rang the expensive number and got a better explanation. Apparently there were a few last minute single appts, but because I need a double appt I'm having to wait a little longer. The guy said they normally take 2-4 weeks to assign an interview date so I could have another 2 ish weeks to wait.

Well at least I know now :D

That's kinda hogwash because an appt with the interviewer takes about 10 minutes so squeezing in a kid might add on 2 minutes. I don't know the age but young ones don't even have to go. And they don't take people by appointment time anyway. If an 11:00 person lines up at 7:00 and gets in the door as number 01, then they are taken first. But that's the story they gave you, so be it. Perhaps you should email and remind them you have an urgent need to get the child in school and need to arrive in the US by August 20. And let them know your documents and medical are in their hands since _________ date. ::crossing fingers for you::

Yep, I know it. I said to the guy, my son does'nt even have to come to the interview, but he said they need the extra time to go through the extra paperwork? I paid twice so I have 2 appointments and as my son is so young and travelling with me, they have to do a double appointment. Yes hogwash!

But, I feel better knowing my case isn't gathering dust on someones desk who's on holiday.

I've already emailed them at the start of the week and reminded them! The guy told me today, they have all my paperwork and my medical and I'm eligible for an interview, but I guess there waiting on that 'magical double appt' to be available.

Stu4Lee said, the call today should be logged and hopefully I'll either get moved up the list or maybe someone will notice.

Thanks for crossing your fingers, I hope I hear this week coming! :)

Did they ask any questions about your kids at the interview?
