The petition required me to submit my discharge form I have from the Navy. I received a medical/general discharge from boot camp; so I wanted to know does this have any significance or impact on the petition? I don't see any reason why it would, unless there was some kind of disciplinary action taken because I broke military law or something, but I didn't. So even though I don't see a reason why I would get any problems, I've know the government has a stipulation for everything.

So I'm just worrying too much waiting for our NOA2. Any thoughts?

Really? In the instructions for the visa, it says to show your discharge papers if you served in the military.

At least I thought it did, i'm going back looking for where it said it in the instructions or forms...

I think you're looking at the I-129F, Part C, Item 1, which says:

1. If you are serving overseas in the Armed Forces of the United States, please answer the following

I currently reside or am stationed overseas and my current mailing address is:

I put "NOT PRESENTLY IN MILITARY SERVICE" for that question and was approved. There is no mention of having to submit discharge papers.

On the G-325a, I added a supplemental sheet showing my overseas address while on active duty and the periods when I was overseas.

That was all...

May your visa journey be smooth and speedy.

Ah ok. Well, I'm looking at my scanned document files I sent, and there's no DD-214 form. I think I was going to send it but realized I didn't have to - it's hard to remember now. Thanks for the help though.

Good deal. This process is definitely a PITA sometimes.

May your visa journey be smooth and speedy.

My husband (then fiance) didn't fill in anything in that part because the qn was only relevant to those who WERE serving. He never submitted his DD-214.
