Doesn't hurt, just a quick jab. The muscle will be sore for about a day or so, and for the first few hours at least it will be very warm to the touch. I've felt a bit rundown in the past when I've gotten them for about a day, but I wouldn't call it sick.

What is it like? Does it hurt? Is it a big needle? Will I get sick after it?

I only have about 20 minutes before it's time......... :(:unsure:

oh getting the shot is no big deal - but the next day your arm hurts like it was hit by a train :P

I get them every year and haven't had any problems. A qucik shot in the arm, it doesn't hurt (i'm used to needles). My arm felt a little sore for a day. But all in all I haven't gotten the flu....so its an even trade. 1 shot and 1 day of soreness, versus 5 days of chiils, fevers, aches, pains, coughing

They're giving them free at work, so I have no excuse to not get one. They won't have any sympathy if I get the flu, if I don't get the shot. Oh man I don't want it! Don't want my arm to be hit by a train...don't want the #######...don't want any of it! I'm a HUGE baby when it comes to needles, in case you couldn't tell. My arm is hurting ALREADY.

You sound like my husband, he's a big baby too when it comes to needles! :P

Seriously, it's nothing. And it's sooooo worth it. One year I didn't get the shot, and I had the most horrible flu. I vowed to always get one from that point on.

If you're fit and healthy, why have it? It's much better for your body to fight and create its own antibodies. Flu jabs really do f*** up your immune system. They hand drugs out like candy over here :rolleyes:
