Hi Y'all,

It's my first time posting on VJ. So far I've read all the threads the great members of VJ have started whenever I've had any queries and they've been of the utmost help, so I'd like to thank all the amazing members on here, but I've been unable to find anything regarding my case. So here's the situation, I mailed my I129-f petition packet in the first week of May, and my check was cashed on 5/15/12 but I haven't received any notice thru the mail yet. Firstly, since my check was cashed, has my petition been received and is being worked on? and secondly, I've heard that there's a receipt number on the back of the cashed check, does anyone know that to be the case? I'll appreciate all the help I can get in this case. God Bless Y'all and let's hope all our cases get approved in a reasonable amount of time.

Welcome to VJ Shakgill

When I applied I recieved a letter staiting that my case was being sent to the corresponding USCIS office. from then about 2 weeks after I recieved a letter in the mail and I had also recieved a email notification with my USCIS number usualy starts with WAC.... thats the number used to go to USCIS website to check progress. If you have not recieved your case number by now I suggest contacting USCIS.

Also did you happen to request to be electronically notificed of any updates to your case? If you requested email check your junk mail just to be on the safe side.

I have heard that the recipt of recieving the I129 have been slow so dont stress its been a common complain in the past month.

Exactly. I have been waiting 16 days since my I-129F petition was sent and still haven't received an NOA1 yet. The only thing I did get was a text confirmation 11 days ago, but no email confirmation...

...strange

My experience with USCIS is that the website isn't very up to date and the last thing they do is send a message stating what is going on. I signed up for both text messages and email notifications and would receive the text message a few minutes before the email notification.

I received my NOA1 approximately 5 days after I sent in my petition. I too would highly recommend giving them a call and checking on your case. Be sure to get your Case # from them so you can track it online too. I would think that them having cashed your check is a good sign that things are well on their way but best to call and be 100% sure!

No worries and best of luck.
