Hello. I know this post is from a while ago but I was just interested...does that mean when I get my interview date I could call and ask for an earlier one if they have any slots? (Or do you need to have a reason other than 'I just want to see my hubbby' to be eligible?)

Yes. The person on the phone (call center in Scotland) won't be able to change it, but should be able to give you the email code so you can request by email. Some people have requested an earlier appointment or asked for any cancellation, saying they are available on short notice. Just tell the phone guy you need to reschedule your appointment. If he wants a reason, say anything so he will give you the code...having surgery, out of town on that date, etc. Don't say that in the email to the consulate. Tell them you need to get to the US earlier than your interview date if possible, so "may I please be considered for an earlier interview....blah blah blah...

That's great advice! Will definitely be doing that. Do we have any examples where an earlier appointment has been achieved?

Well I've got 5 years of UK forum in my head, so not going to do a search, but it happens. You may get told yes or maybe a flat no. But you can ask. Generally you should have a good reason if you want them to consider it, but you never know. Some people are desperate because they scheduled a big wedding, or want hubby there for birth of baby, or hubby deploying. Do you really need to move it up a week and take an opening from those people?

Thanks so much! Where do I get the number once I eventually get this Case Complete? (Or is it with the interview information once we're assigned an interview date?)

Thanks,

Cat
