Wonder if anyone has any experience of this.

I have a full UK licence and have already taken the theory test in MN however as I cannot be issued a licence longer that my i94 pending AOS/EAD I have delayed taking the test. Our wedding is at the end of June and we have hired a vehicle along with other family members for a road trip to New Orleans. I would be using my UK licence for this does any one see an issue with this?

Check the state laws, they vary a little bit from state to state in regards to using the foreign lic.

Some states are ok with foreign lic some state insist on having international DL.

Why not let family member r your fiancee drive.

Hi

A UK licence is an international drivers licence so no issue there, its a lot of miles and we only have 3 drivers including me. My view is that I am not resident in MN, (if they cant give me a licence without proof of eligibility to stay in USA)until EAD, and certainly not in any other states we would be driving through, but I bow to anyone with actual experience of this situation.

My sister was just here visiting from the UK and hired a car to take a side trip. She got a killer deal from a UK travel company for Hertz. The Hertz guy said they can't even come close to offering that good of a deal to anyone so he highly recommended those companies as opposed to dealing directly with Hertz. So see if you can go through one of those and just add on whoever else will be driving. As long as you have a drivers license you're good to go.
