Husband denied at the interview and received the 221(g) slip, all the original documents I sent to USCIS and NVC were returned to him and they also returned his passport. What does this mean by them returning all documents? The 221(g) indicates that our marriage is not "real"

221g is refusal to issuing the visa which means denial. Which consulate the interview took place? and what were the questions asked? what was the reason stipulated at his 221g notice? CO's would state reason of refusal on that slip. Be strong and ready yourself for rebuttal.

The interview took place in Haiti. The reason why we received 221g is because they do not feel that the marriage is "real". Also, they told him to tell me to get a CIVA card to talk to them, but I have been calling and no one is answering. The questions asked were:

1. What year did we meet

2. Where did we meet

4. Is my father still living

5. My mother name, my father name and where are they from

6. Were there children in the first marriage? ( I was married once before and the divorced was finalized in 2009, but I have no kids)

7. Do you we have kids together(No)

8. What is my address?

9. Am I working? (Am currently on unemployment but I filed with a joint sponsor)

10.Does he know why am not working?

11.After the wedding did I travel back to Haiti? (No, because of security reasons)

Any advice or suggestions on this matter? What else should I do besides calling the embassy?

The first thing you can do is contact your Senators and Congressman to try and stop the petition from being returned as the moment it leaves the Consulate man it would really run long and slow plus the cost of eventually re applying. Avoid doing the NOIR route call the consulate and try to speak to a consular officer. Go over the questions asked to your husband, perhaps there was a misunderstanding, or maybe he didn't sound convincing, your visit in Haiti factor might have added too. There were members here who went through the rebuttal process, hopefully they show up and give some tips.
