Question about health insurance on K1

I plan on moving to the US in September with my k1 visa. There will be about 2 weeks time from the time I move to the time I get married. At the time of marriage I will be covered under my new husband's work policy. Here is my question though. My employer is giving me the three weeks vacation I have not yet taken yet at the end of my time here, meaning for those two weeks while I am in the US, I am technically still employed at my old job until my wedding day. So my question is would the out of country insurance I have through work suffice for those two weeks? Or do I need to find something else?

Aos:

10-01-12. Sent AOS, AP and EAD

10-09-12- Recieved NOA's for forms

10-24-12- Successfully walked in for biometrics (originally scheduled for 11-08-12)

11-26-12- Made info pass appointment for emergency advance parole. Denied, but agent called service center to request an expedite.

11-28-12- Agent at Infopass called me to let me know service center approved my request.

12-01-12- Advance parole received in the mail (2 page version, not combo card)

You will have to ask your work place if it covers it. Generally you are not a tourist when entering on a K-1 with immigration intent and you need insurance that covers intending / new immigrants.

As Inky said, you need to ask your insurance company if they would cover after moving to the U.S. Normal travel insurance does not apply here as you are not traveling but moving to a foreign country. Make this clear when you talk to them to ensure you wouldn't have issues with an eventual claim. If you find out you are not covered after the move, you can look into a private temporary health insurance. For 2 weeks, it shouldn't cost you much.

US citizen since April 2016

ROC completed April 2014

AOS from K1 completed February 2012
