Hello,

My wifes AOS interview is scheduled for Nov 16th in Pittsburgh. The interview notice says she needs government issued identification to get in the building for her appointment. My question is, does this mean she needs United states government ID? They will not give her an ID in our state, can she use her Polish issued passport?

From San Jose office, they all tend to follow the same rules.

Acceptable forms of identification include: passport, green card, national ID, military ID, state-issued photo ID, or other USCIS-issued photo ID.

Her passport should be sufficient to get to the interview.

Also, if your I-94 is still valid, she can get state ID. I think all you need is you I-94, passport, marriage certificate, and your NOA's.

If you live in Pittsburgh, the people from the DMV center in the north hills were quite efficient issuing my state ID. Also, the people at the Pittsburgh DO, are very nice.

If you need any more info, feel free to PM me.

Good luck!

ETA: Oops! I thought you were K1, I am not sure about how the timeline works for ICR1's but go to Penndot.com and you should be able to find out what is needed for the state ID.

IF CR-1/IR-1 they would not be doing AOS, they would already have Greencard. So K-1 or K-3 is a good assumption.

Thanks for the quick reply. My wife is not ICR1 she has a J1 visa. I do not even know what ICR1 is. There is just no option for J1 on the timeline. Once again thanks for the info!

If she has changed her name and her new name is on the interview notice, make sure you have the marriage certificate easily accessible as well.

Timeline for Removing Conditions:

Timeline for AOS:
