Hello all,

My fiancee and son went to the GUZ consulate today for document intake. My fiancee was interrogated by a Chinese worker at the consulate asking her why she wanted to marry an American, and a couple of other "off-putting" questions. However, we believe that all is well. Her appointment letter was stamped with instructions to "Please return interview at 7:30AM tomorrow. We are all wondering about a green circular sticker with a dark black line running across the diameter of the sticker. The sticker was attached to the letter after their biometrics were completed. Most of the people got the same sticker, but some a green circular sticker with no black line. We are wondering if there is any significance or cause for alarm???? :help:

Any input is appreciated.....

Hi A&B, my wife and step son are going to have interview on July 2, 2012. I would like to know are your fiance and son interviewed together or they are interviewed separately?

My stepdaughter had the interview today and passed. I noticed the packet did not have a black line through it, just the green sticker. My wife has a green card already so the interview was for my 10 year old stepdaughter but my wife accompanied her. The only words my stepdaughter said to the visa officer was hello and bye. My wife was asked all the questions and replied. I will post more about the document intake and interview.

Their interview will be tomorrow. It is our impression that their interview will be together, if it is different I will let you know.

I don't understand why you would be asked this question by a regular worker and document intake. I am also curious about the black line across the green sticker. I live on the Canada border and cross frequently so I know when to tell these guys when to stuff it and when to answer. I fear my fiance will be intimidated by some prying busy body.

This is surprising, my wife and I were impressed that everything was so painless and everybody was courteous. If you take all the documents you need, you should be fine!

Hello all,

It's ridiculous and offensive for a worker asking this kind of questions.

I agree, fortunately my fiancee and I have been prepping her for the interview, so she was at the top of her game. Additionally, today was her birthday, and so she was feeling like superwoman, nothing was going to get her down. We are headed back to the consulate tomorrow at 7:30am for the interview. It is off to bed now, so that she and her son will be rested and ready to the final day of appointments at the GUZ.

Cheers.

I was never able to find out if there was any significance to the green circular sticker with black line through it. In the end I guess it is of little consequence, they returned the next day for their interview and were approved.

Thanks for the responses.

Cheers.

congrats, A&B! Did your fiancee interview in English or Chinese? Do you think it matters? or you think you get some kind of "slight" advantage if you interview in English?

She interviewed in English. I suspect that there may be an advantage in speaking English at the interview. Let's see what other member's comment.

I agree. Of course, if your case is strong in all respects, you will likely pass whether Chinese or English. However, if it is feasable, taking the interview in English can only help, at minimum in a subliminal way.
