I was wondering .... is the FBI name check process for AOS any faster for those of us who are here on H1-Bs?

I presume that we went through some kind of international name check process before our H visas were issued, so it would seem to make sense that our name checks would be easier and faster once we get to AOS stage, right?

Can any H-ers who have successfully adjusted confirm this? Or is my theory just a matter of wishful thinking?!

Thanks

I'm gonna guess it's probably not faster.

The checks done on you during your visa process were performed by Department of State. It's been explained to me that this is not quite as in depth as the security check performed once in the states.

FBI conducts the checks performed during AOS, and it seems to be the domestic portion of that which slows the process.

I would guess not, but that said I had no name check issues and was approved at interview after 3 1/2 months, and I was previously on a H1-B. That said I have had my background check done many times before due to my work.
