So how's biometrics appt work? Need to plan vacation

We got the NOA for the AOS filing on June 7 (for K1 visa)... what can we expect now? I need to reserve places to stay for vacation and don't want to return from vacation to discover we got a letter saying when to go for an appointment in the past. How do these work? How much time in advance will we know the biometrics and interview appointments?

I got my biometrics letter 2 days after the NOA hardcopies of the AOS, but it seems to take weeks for some other people on VJ. Usually, the appointment is about a month after you receive the letter. Hopefully you'll receive the letter soon!

K-1 Visa Timeline AOS Timeline

- Aug 31st, 2011 - Mailed I-129F package - May 29th, 2012 - Mailed AOS/EAD/AP package

- Apr 13th, 2012 - Visa received - Aug 24th, 2012 - Green Card received

ROC Timeline

- May 19th, 2014 - Mailed ROC package to CSC

- Aug 8th, 2014 - Green Card received

N-400 Timeline

- Dec 29th, 2021 - Filed online. Got notice that biometrics will be reused.

- Now waiting...

So, would it be safe to take a 1 week vacation first week of July? Once I reserve motel, can't cancel without penalty....

I haven received Biometrics appointment either :(

06/01-(day 1)- AOS received

06/04-(day 4)- AOS acceptance

06/06-(day 6)-Txt/Email, routed to NBC

06/09-(day 9)-I-797 NOA received (Saturday)

06/11-(day 11)-Called to fix typographical error(Missing middle name on I-130)

06/20-(day 20)- Email received (Saying error fixed)

07/13-(day 43)Email: reused most recent biometrics, awaiting Indie status

09/10-(day 103)Humanitarian Expedite Request

9/13-(day 106) Interview October 17TH (TOTAL 139 DAYS)

9/17-APPROVED ON THE SPOT AND STAMP ON PASSPORT WHICH EXPIRES IN ONE YR!!!

Well, I don't know, we have similar NOA dates and my biometrics are on first week of July! But do you know what is the closest USCIS office in your area? You should check timelines of VJ members who got or will get their appointment at that office, to maybe have an idea of when to expect yours...

Also, when you receive your letter, you can ask to have it reschedule if the date doesn't work out for you.
