The injuries sustained by both Martin and Zimmerman are for the most part, superficial, coincide with eye-witness testimony of a brawl or fist-of-cuff, and do not support Zimmerman's version of what happened that night.

But, assuming that Martin did in fact start wailing on Zimmerman like a wild banshee in spite of contradictory physical evidence, the only logical reason based on what we know is that Martin felt threatened that night by Zimmerman.

I don't understand why you keep going on about the injuries as if they prove Zimmerman was fighting too. Other than the gunshot, Martin only had one other injury on a knuckle which was probably caused after striking zimmerman...unless you think zimmerman was hitting himself....

The injuries are the strongest piece of evidence for the defence.

I've heard of immaculate conception but not immaculate laceration.

Well, I guess we'll have to leave it at that. I don't think the physical evidence supports Zimmerman's claim of having his head slammed into concrete, but rather supports the eye-witnesses account of see two people in a brawl. I also don't think that Zimmerman's life was in any danger that night, even if he might have been that paranoid to believe so. He certainly didn't behave like a person who was most concerned about his personal safety up to the point that he and Martin had a confrontation. Martin's behavior leading up to that confrontation doesn't show anything but fear. And yet, here we are - Martin shot dead that night and Zimmerman claiming to be the victim of Martin's aggression. I'm sorry, but it just doesn't add up.

You can be in a brawl without ever landing a punch on the other guy. Perhaps Zimmerman's more of a grappler - I don't know, but read the eye witness testimony as well as the neighborhood calls to 911. These guys were in a scuffle. There was wrestling and shoving going on. The relevance of the physical evidence shows that this scuffle was not serious enough to cause any significant injury, let alone pose a danger to anyone's life. So Zimmerman must convince the jurors that in spite of the lack of physical evidence, he reasonably felt that Martin was trying to cause grave bodily harm for no apparent reason. It will be interesting if Zimmerman ever takes the stand. I would like to see how his version of the events that night coincide with the evidence. Again, the lead investigator 'saw' something there that caused him to want to arrest Zimmerman.

Trust me when I say that wrestling always leaves marks.

I'm not EVEN getting into this again  lol

I'm going to wait for the trial and see what surprises lie in store. We aren't privy to even half of all the evidence to be presented for this case.

Meanwhile in another part of the country, Raul Rodriguez (another fruitcake shooter  ) is waiting for his verdict ..should be interesting as well. I'm afraid these stand your ground laws are nothing more than a moneymaker for the lobbyists (NRA) and are causing more trouble than they are worth in our society. :bonk:
