Vermont to NVC - Slowwww!

Hello fellow VJ'ers!

Can't help but notice how slow Vermont has become when sending approved petitions to the National Visa Center. I called today and they still have no record of our case. Maybe it's just sitting at the NVC and waiting to go into the system? Does anyone know why a process that once took less than 7 days is now taking a month?

It's taking 3-4 weeks for them to send to the NVC and then the NVC takes about 2 weeks to give you a case # for the embassy (I'm going through Montreal). After waiting so long for the NOA2, it hurts to know the waiting isn't close to being over. :(

Wow. Sounds like more disappointment to look forward to now...I guess it's better I didn't know how bad this would all become. It really couldn't be much worse....Can only hope and pray it won't stay like that. This is crazy.

It is taking a long time! Got my NOA2 on May 9. After many calls to NVC with no results  , sent an e-mail to NVCresearch.state.gov, and got this replay today (yeah!). So at least its "en route" to NVC.....my friend in the office here theorizes that it's being hand carried on foot by those little bitty guys on Men in Black, and they are stopping at a few bars along the way.....

Dear Sir/Madam:

Please be advised that the National Visa Center (NVC) contacted U.S.

Citizenship and Immigration Service (USCIS) to locate your approved

petition. USCIS has informed the NVC, that your petition is en route to

the NVC. Once we have received your petition, the appropriate agent

will receive further instructions within 6 to 8 weeks.

Sincerely,

National Visa Center

I'll be calling once every day or every second day for sure. It's funny because depending on who answers the call, they'll tell me that if it doesn't say on my NOA2 that it's going to the NVC, it's going to my closest US Consulate. Thanks to VJ, I know the difference. It always goes through the NVC first to get a case #. Ah my...I must have patience! I pray it's not too much longer as I'm ready to get started on the online forms for packet 3!
