TEXAS DAD BEATS HIS DAUGHTER’S MOLESTER TO DEATH

How would you have incapicatated the individual? What would you have done differently than the father? It seems that, because we don't know all the facts, you assume the worst of the father. You call him a vigilante killer who should no longer be the guardian of his own daughter. All because you assume the worst of him without knowing the whole story. With all due respect, I think your assumptions about the father are as stupid as my previous monologue, which was intended to be so.

I would not have killed. And, I have also said that it's highly likely the father killed him by accident. I'd like to believe that was what happened.

I never assumed the worst of him or even the best of him... because poorly written news articles should never be used to base one's opinion on.

I don't fault the father for being mad. I don't even fault him for doing physical harm to the offender. He might even have killed him by accident.

It was just extremely disturbing to see posts of people praising what he did... as if killing was really THE best thing ever... as if every criminal merits death by being beaten by a father going berserk... as if killing should be the most natural option for any angry, maltreated human being.

I had a different opinion. Unpopular as it may be, it needed to be heard.

But I seriously would re-consider having the father of that little girl be her primary guardian. Going berserk enough to be a killer.

Some people on here (and yep, even that town in Texas) even wants to call him a hero? A vigilante killer gone berserk is a hero? Granted he might have killed the offender by accident... but that is by no means a reason for him to be lauded and put on a pedestal.

A berserk vigilante killer who should have his rights as her guardian taken away. But I guess you meant that in a good way.

I am probably the only person on this thread who has actually faced the situation where my 5 year old daughter was abused, albeit in a less serious way, by a male stranger, and I am glad I called the Police and social services, especially in the circumstances where the abuser had "learning disabilities" rather than being a dangerous predator. It was somewhat different in that I learned of the incident the next day, but I like to think that I can assess situations fast and weigh up courses of action before I act.

not even close ... beyond apples vs oranges

i'll need to double check your earlier post ... wasn't the indigent offender a known diminished capacity person who only hung it out and spoke words? He didn't climb on or disrobe your daughter ....

either it was the same level or it wasn't (i'm glad for you and your daughter it wasn't and you showed appropriate restraint)

I remember when I was in England, a 17 year old retarded youth exposing himself to my 5 year old daughter and inviting her to perform certain acts - those usually performed on Presidents in the white house corridors.

I realized that he was "backward" and reported it to the Police who investigated along with Social Services.

My wife's family refused to speak to me again as they thought I should have beaten this mentally disabled boy's face to a pulp

It's a good job the mother wasn't present as they are invariably more primeval, savage and uncontrolled in these circumstances

I always do!

Just because your number one qualification for an awesome, reliable, absolutely perfect guardian is "Must be able to beat to death another human with bare hands just like the Incredible Hulk could" doesn't mean it ought to be everyone else's.

I don't remember saying anything like that. Maybe you're just assuming the worst of me as well.

I would still like to know how you would have incapacitated the individual. It's pretty easy for you to judge him without ever being in his shoes.

If a physical intervention is warranted... I know human anatomy. That's enough to know where just a single punch or kick will matter.

I can't judge this man without knowing all the facts. I believe this case has a lot of grey areas, not aided by the poorly-written news report. And, no, quoting what I previously posted in just teensy weensy portions to make me seem idiotic does not make your argument right. My responses are taken as a whole, not as parts.

Self-control is such an underrated human value. I look up to men who do not let their emotions control them. This is that father's weakness and I hope, for his daughter's sake, that he will able to master himself better than what he had already shown.

Also, how will I be able to assume the worst in you? Disagreeing with your responses do not mean I automatically find your very being disagreeable.

Been in a lot of fights, have you? For some reason, in fights, the other person doesn't always cooperate and let you punch or kick him where it will matter.

I have been in quite a few... and won. One common weakness was underestimating an opponent. :innocent:

Haha! Not a lot of fights. And no, not from a ghetto. But Manila isn't exactly a safe place. Was almost robbed. Almost physically assaulted.
