evidence of relationship

A quick last minute question before flying to Juarez for the K1 interview. Do we need anything in the way of a letter acknowledging our relationship from friends including friends that knew us both 11 years ago? The biggest piece of evidence we have of our relationship is over 700 pages of messenger chat from after her laptop was stolen and after I finally thought it would be smart to save the chats. We also have some pictures and e-mails but neither of us have been big on photos. I also was wondering if a receipt for the ring is neccesary (sounds like a dumb question I'm sure): I bought the ring for her and not to prove anything to anyone else so I probably trashed the reciept as it would do her no good for resizing in Mexico. I know the last question may perplex some people but I really haven't thought much about evidence along the way because we have a long history (i guess its just the way I am wired).

Also we will be in Juarez from this wednsday until the interview on Tuesday. Is there anything I can do while there other than be her support and wait it out since I am not allowed to be at the interview. Sorry if this is similiar to a previous post but it doesn't look like that post went through. Also thanx for all of the great information as well as posts on this forum and wish us luck :)

Someone can write nice things about something. Of course, personally I don't think you need it. Just focus on the evidence that shows communication between the two of you. How your fiancee respond and act during her interview is what counts.

"Trust in the LORD with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways acknowledge him, and he will direct your paths." (Proverbs 3, 5-6)

Hi, I dont think you need letter from friends it sounds like what you currently have is sufficient. In my experience we only had a two page chat log from skype.

And another word of advice I can give is don't leave her alone, be with her in every step of the process. When I was in Juarez my fiance got a bit nervous during the interview and the officer ask her to go outside of the building to get me ( I am the USC). Luckily I stood outside of the building the whole time looking towards the door waiting for her to come out. Finally when I saw her I noticed a worried looked on her face. I was expecting her to tell me we were approved, but it turns out i was called in the building to interview. Well, everything turned out well, it was just a matter of language barrier and the visa was approved. But don't leave her alone.

Do you think it would help though ... and should it be notorized. I haven't seen much info on this so just wondering?

I filed a K1 and i was approved, in my documentation i did not have any notarized letters. I dont think you need such a thing in this leg of the process.

Have the friends you reference from 11 years ago interacted with you both as a couple between then and now? If not, then such letters are likely to carry zero weight. To answer your question about notarization, if you were to obtain such these letters, there is no requirement (that I know of) they be notarized.

Furthermore, there is a high degree of probability that a CO would not even ask to see such letters.

Thank you all for your replies. I do plan on being with here the whole time and waiting outside the consulate just in case they want to talk to me also. On a side note I did manage to a copy of the original receipt from Fred Meyer Jewelers. I guess you just have to keep calling different numbers and asking different people until someone can figure it out :s .
