1. Does the Co-Sponsor have to live in the same house that the intended immigrant will be living where the address stated on the sponsor's address or can the co- sponsor live at a different location?

2. What are the total number of co-sponsors that can be used?

3. I understand that IRS transcript is best, but will the 1040(ITR) and a copy of the most recent paycheck stub be suffecient from the co-sponsor?

4. How does one go about obtaining an IRS transcript and how long does it take to obtain it?

No, I don't think multiple co sponsors are allowed, unless there are multiple intending immigrants

Co sponsor does not have to be a household member. The benefit of having one who is a household member is that the petitioner and household member can combine their income to qualify.

If not sending IRS transcript be sure to include all other tax forms ( W-2, 1099, etc)

Paystubs will help too.

Took about a week for us to receive our transcripts after ordering them online

Answers:

1. No, a joint sponsor does not have to reside at the same address as the intending immigrant (when an I-864 is filed, the proper term is joint sponsor).

I found it. According to the State Department web site, one can have as many as two joint sponsors:

When can there be a Joint Sponsor?

A joint sponsor may submit an Affidavit of Support to sponsor all or some of the family members if the primary sponsor does not meet the income requirements. A maximum of two joint sponsors per petition can be used. Each joint sponsor is only responsible for the applicant(s) listed on that joint sponsor’s Affidavit of Support. Important note: If a joint sponsor is used, the petitioning sponsor must submit Form I-864, not Form I-864EZ.
