Error on I-130

I was filling out the I-130, what I got from USCIS.Gov

and the form says expires on 01/31/2012 ???? I am confused

Also, As I have not been back in the UK for long and my wife just arrived, I am unemployed will this look bad and affect my chances (my wife is also unemployed) but are co sponsor makes $45,000 a year

U.S. government assigns a number and an expiration date for every form. If you check the form there is OMB number before expiration date. OMB stands for the Office of Management and Budget, which track official paperwork and improve its efficiency. The expiration date is the expiration date of this form.

You are supposed to use the same form ( expires 01/31/2012) which is the latest form to file I -130 petition as of today....

The expiration date is the expiration of the comment period to the Office of Management and Budget, not the form itself. Since the form you obtained is the most recent form available from USCIS, it can be used.

Your employment status will have no bearing whatsoever. Your joint sponsor's income must be greater than or equal to 125% of the poverty line for their household size in order to qualify. Refer to the I-864P for specific number. When you look at the chart, you will count in the joint sponsor's household size.

The expiration date IS NOT the expiration date of this form, it is for internal use. ( make it simple)

I believe, at this time, he does not have any Option/choice beside filling out the same form.OMB expiration date might not change for long time.Is there any other Options???

Forms don't expire but are sometimes revised or changed slightly. The OMB date tells when the form is up for review again. It may not change at all but will get a new OMB date after the review is complete to show when it is next up for review by the Office to Management and Budget to comply with Paperwork Reduction Act.

Note on Expiration: USCIS continues to accept the 01/08/12 edition of Form I-130 available here despite the passing of the form's expiration date. An updated form will be posted as soon as it becomes available.
