The Steps To Take After NOA2

Almost everything I know as of now about K1 Visa is from reading on VJ and asking VJ members.

Today is the 92nd day since I mailed my I-129F form. According to VJ, it will take an average of 147 days to get NOA2 approval for Ho Chi Minh City cases so I have 55 more days to go.

Just to make sure that I am taking the correct steps and on track from reading VJ and for better preparation. Here are the steps to take after NOA2 and I am intended to waste no time, not even a single day to send in the paperwork. Please let me know if the steps below are correct and recommended.

After NOA2.

1. I will need to fill out and send form I-134 Affidavit. This includes;

a. 3 of my most recent pay stubs

b. A signed letter from my employer listing my job title, start date, my salary, and my job status.

c. My banking statements and other assets such as stocks.

d. A copy of the NOA2 that I received.

e. Copy of my 2011 income tax.

f. Proof of my ongoing relationship with my fiancee. Include any photos, letter, emails since NOA1.

g. An original letter affirming my desire to marry my fiancee and my continued support of the K-1 Visa. Sign and date the form.

Questions and Concern: Is the package above called Package 3 that I expect to receive from USCIS when they send me NOA2?

2. I must send or take a copy of the entire I-129F package that I sent the petition to USCIS to Vietnam for my fiancee. She will to look over and to take with her to the interview later.

General Question and concern: When do I need to have the timeline and 10 years of residency from both me and my fiancee be sent or taken to show them? I read from VJ somewhere that we must get notary for both of these timeline and residency. Is this correct?

What do my fiancee expect to get?

She will expect to receive package 4 correct?

Packet 3 comes from the Embassy. It is a good idea to send to take the I129f to the beneficiary because the officer will have the exact replica of the file in his or her possession to refer to. You want her to be prepared. Good luck

The EMBASSY in Hanoi has nothing to do with the K1 visa! The HCMC consulate is the office that deals with it...

You can download a copy of the pkt 3 and pkt 4 documents from the HCMC consulate website... timeline and residency documents are optional and may be requested in a blue slip if the visa is not approved at the interview... just ways or them to put off issuing the visa...

After you 2 send in pkt 3, you will start calling DoS a week or so later and asking for a status update on the case... They will tell you when pkt 4 has been sent.. She will start looking in the mail then.. if it does not arrive in 10 days, then you can have her go to the consulate to request a copy so she can get her medical done at IOM or Cho Ray...

Please help answer my confusion.

So when USCIS send me the NOA2 notice. I will send the following back to USCIS correct?

1. I will need to fill out and send form I-134 Affidavit. This includes;

What about Package 3? Who send me Package 3 and both of us will receive packing 3 to fill out correct? What about forms DS-2001 and DS-230, are these included in Package 3?

you'd send all the support paper docs to your fiance. You only need your tax transcript. Search somewhere in here for a phone number to call to get the tax transcript. I sent my fiance all 3 previous years. Unless you're making the minimum guideline (20k?), you don't need to send your bank info, financial stuff.....

I-129F NOA2 : 2012-05-15

NVC Received : 2012-06-22

NVC Left : 2012-06-28

Consulate Received : 2012-07-02

Packet 3 Received : Called DOS on 07/3 and package 3 sent out. We didn't wait for the "physical" package. My fiance' mailed DS2001 and DS230 part I

out the next day via EMS. You don't have to wait for pkg3. You can download and fill it out ahead of time.

Packet 3 Sent : 2012-07-04

Consulate Received pkg 3: 2012-07-06

NO you filed a K-1...

after NOA2 you wait for the file to go through NVC to HCMC and then when they say they got the file, you send the pkt 3 docs via fax , email, mail or hand deliver.. You need to do some reading in the guides above before you make a huge mistake... one misstep with that original NOA2 and you are screwed...

Hy Vong, slow down and study the guides and the VN regional forum. This is not going to go well if you are just slapping things together and sending them to HCMC.

From the reading on this website

Some people here gave me link to package 3.

Some people said after NOA2, they will send package 3.

I downloaded package 3 and read. They said "Do not send any documents to our office except for Forms DS-2001 and DS-

230 Part I." I can see the DS-230 can be downloaded at this link http://travel.state.gov/visa/forms/forms_1342.html

What about DS-2001? What is it and where can I find it?

On the K-1 Guide, which is here http://www.visajourney.com/content/k1guide

says to send the following to my fiancee (note: this is to my fiancee, not to the HCM Consular)

1. A copy of the I-129F package includes all the supporting documents that I sent to the USICS

2. form I-134 Affidavit.

While waiting for an interview to be scheduled, applicants should prepare the following documents

1. Fees

2. Visa photos

3. Passports

4. Birth Certificates

5. Justice Record check

6. Evidence of support

7. Evidence of relationship

So basically, the next step after NOA2 for us to send to the Ho Chi Minh Concular is the DS-2001 and DS-230 forms when we have confirmation that NVC to HCMC and then when they say they got the file.

You can't do anything until HCMC has sent out pkt 3... (except gather documents) After NVC sends the file to HCMC start calling DoS and asking about the staus of the petition.. They will let you know when the pkt 3 has been sent.. Then you can send via email fax etc the DS-2001 and DS-230 ...

DS-2001
