I have posted this here because I came into the US on a K1 visa and all the other paperwork is in (EAD and App for Green card). My question is a simple one really, I just wanted to know how long(roughly) it took for people to get their hands on their green cards after they had had their biometrics appointment. My biometrics app is at the end of the month so just wanted a rough idea of how long the green card will take after that.

The chicago office sent my applcation over to the california office so that it will get processed quicker, which is great. Anyway.... apologies if this is the wrong forum for posting this.

if you have your asc appointment letter, you can do a early walk in, you don't have to wait until the end of the month,it may save you some time, after the biometrice if approved should take about 30 days to get the permenant resident card,

This is not accurate. It would be more like 4-5 months, however there are people who already been waiting for longer then that and haven't seen anything.

Not sure where you get the idea of 30 days, and giving people hope.

Bad news: California Center is way behind.....from recent postings, it seems 6-7 months average for GC and many people in service request......Sorry

On the good side, EAD would still be about 1 month after biometrics

Ack, absolutely not 30 days for the resident card. People tend to receive their EAD/AP a few weeks after their biometrics, but DEFINITELY not the green card!

Not a K-1 process or procedure. Moving to AOS forums where AOS topics go!

Yeah, that's what we thought too, 6 months ago. Turned out to be wayyy slower than non-transfers that had interviews.

I dont mind if they take a while with the green card im just trying to find out roughly how long people had to wait after their biometrics (from previous experiences) rather than this turning into a huge convo about something else. I am not too worried about the EAD because that is averaging around 70 days and im already half way through that.

The wait from biometrics isn't a good way to think about it. Biometrics appointments are scheduled at different times, it depends on how busy their local office is. Some people wait much longer for appointments than others so they may not wait as long for the card to arrive after the appointment. You should use the NOA1 date instead as that is when they start processing your case.
