I just called the Manila embassy to set up an interview appointment. My NOA2 hardcopy only lists my fiancee, not her 5 y.o. son. I took this to be normal since he's a young K2 derivative.

When I spoke with the representative, he took all the information and said that he would not be able to set up an appointment for the child. He said it's normal to have both appointments set for the same time. Now he's forwarding information to the investigation unit to see if an appointment can be set without the boy showing on the I-787. They will email me a response "as soon as they have it."

Is this a genuine issue or did the call center operator simply not know full procedures?

On pins and needles again now...

May your visa journey be smooth and speedy.

I ask the same thing a while back on here and was told it's normal for the child not to be listed on the NOA1 and 2. As long as you list all children that your petitioning with your fiancee. When we paid the visa fee i paid for each and got confirmation numbers on both and when i scheduled their interview i did them on line but ran into a problem when i list my name instead of my fiance so we had to call them and did get our interviews scheduled for the same day and have confirmation on both, the only difference is the time one is at 6:30am and the other at 7am don't really know why but will let you know what happens on the 26th of this month which is the interview Date. you might want to call again and get a supervisor next. God Bless

Even though we are far from each other right now I know you are close to me in other ways, you are always here in my heart. You give me reason to look forward to each day,You are my life and a dream come true.there are no words to express how i feel for you.You are the light in my darkness. There could never be words strong enough to express my love for you but I'm going to show it to you everyday as long as i live.I love you with my body, soul and mind.I love you very much baby.Mwaaaaaaaaah!

What i meant was as long as the child was listed on your first petition I-129f.

Yeah, he was listed in the original I-129F and we paid for both visa fees a week ago. Got the receipt numbers, etc.

The call center operator saw my fiancee in the system but didn't see the boy. He said he could set an appointment for my fiancee but that it's recommended for the child to have an appointment at the same time. This I knew. But when he didn't see the kid, he just took a bunch of information and fired off an email to another department. I was his last call of his night, so maybe he just wanted to go home.

Am texting with my fiancee right now about this and she's worried. Understandably so, I guess. It certainly sent a shot of adrenaline up my spine when the operator couldn't find what was needed.

Okay folks, should I just try to set the appointments online myself and bypass the call center?

Or did the call center operator set a computer flag redirecting all inquiries until I get a reply from the embassy? I'd hate to have to sit here twiddling my thumbs for an indefinite period while the embassy investigates what could have been a simple lack of knowledge on the part of the operator.

May your visa journey be smooth and speedy.

My Fiancee set an appointment Via call center and had no problem so try again. They each received a confirmation for their appointment at the same time.

Did the call center rep say that he could find your fiancee in the system but not the K2?

And I just called the embassy after waiting all day... and they're closed for Philippine independence day!

ARRGGGGHHHH!!! (sound of rending hair) :bonk:

Okay, I have a little bit more information.

NVC shipped the package on Tuesday, 5Jun12 but the embassy was closed on Friday, 8Jun12. I don't have a tracking number, so can't check on the delivery date.

I called on Monday, 11Jun12 (morning my time, evening there) and I bet that the info wasn't even entered into their system yet. I'm thinking that the rep I spoke with saw part of the electronic info that NVC uploaded, but couldn't find anything else because the package may not have arrived or if it had, it might not have been uploaded at the time I called.

And "yesterday" was a holiday there for them, so the package may STILL not be uploaded at the embassy.

Should I try again tonight or wait another day or two before calling again?

Exasperating!

May your visa journey be smooth and speedy.

Now there is a typhoon moving in on Mindanao bringing heavy rain to the Manila area so more internet issues...

I would wait the one day, just to give them time to get the packet into their system.
