Can they go any slower? All it seems is we are 2 weeks away from approval for the last 2 months. The dates just get pushed back farther and farther. I had my wife get her police reports back on May 1st because in April it said we would be approved in a couple weeks. The reports arrived on the 20th of May. Now it is June 11th and still no approval. The police reports expire in 3 months. I did not know this at the time I requested them from her. They expire on July 31st. I don't think I will make the deadline now. It seems to take another month after approval to get to NVC and get your number. I would then have to hurry and send in the forms before they expire. Does anyone know if they will accept the police reports and court records if they are a few weeks expired or should I get my wife to get them again. I don't want to spend the 300 dollars again for the police and court records, it seems silly that they would not accept them even if they were a few weeks old, but I would hate to get a RFE for the new papers that would delay things another month. Why is our stupid government so slow?

your NOA2 was Feb 1. You are still well within the 5 month estimated time frame for processing. Not sure why you thought it would be less than that. The USCIS site has been at 5 months for a very long time, even long before I applied in December it was at 5 months. This is the chart for Vermont. https://egov.uscis.gov/cris/processingTimesDisplay.do

obviously vsc screw up on their process because of contracting out a few process. the 5 month estimate is an anticipation of fixing problems with possible delays. it seems like 5 months isn't enough and the scope of their problem has is getting larger atm.
