This is a general inquiry, we haven't received our NOA2 but should be expecting it sometime between the end of July and beginning of August. So we are wondering what some other VJers have gone through, what was your experience, was it a long process. Our consulate is the one in Montreal.

You still need a couple more steps before you can schedule. After your NOA2, your case will have to be transferred from NVC to Montreal and it will take Montreal a couple weeks for them to log it as received. When they do, they will mail you instructions for Packet 3. Once they received and logged your Packet 3 forms, they will mail you Packet 4 instructions, which are the medical and booking an appointment with the consulate. Also, keep in mind that everything that goes through the mail room seems to sit there for about 2 weeks before being processed. And K1 appointments are usually booked a month ahead. I recommend you call DOS often as they are the only ones who can update you on your case's progress.

To answer your question, your guess is a good as anyone else's. It depends how backlogged Montreal is right now and how quickly you can complete and return your Packet 3. So I don't know... you might still be looking at 3 months to your appointment when you receive your NOA2.

Edit: typo.
