Hi everyone! Sorry this post is going to ramble a bit! We are finally coming up to our interview and I have a couple of questions about providing evidence of our relationship. What we do have is over 350 pages of messenger live chat over the past year (nothing that dates back the past 6 years prior due to her laptop having been stolen a year ago as well as my not seeing the need to save the chats :( ). I have travelocity itineraries, some photos of us when she was in Portland on a student visa and a few photos from my visits to Mexico, e-mails and a few phone records. I have a couple of questions: Should have friends who knew both of us 10 years ago write character references attesting to our relationship back then as well as references from more recent friends who are familiar with our engagement! Most of our communication other then visits is through live chat and video chat with each other.

Another issue that may or may not be a big deal is the engagement ring. I bought her one a delivered it to Mexico, however I only bought it as a gesture for her not thinking I needed to prove anything to anyone else so I never thought to save the receipt (after all it would due her no good for resizing in Mexico). I can see how some people would be perplexed by this but that is just how I am wired unfortunately. I do have the certification and a bank statement saying I spent money at Fred Meyer that day but FM cannot send me a copy of the receipt or record of the transaction. Should I attatch a document explaining the situation or just leave her with the bare facts and hope the interviewer will understand? Lastly I will be with her in Juarez for the week leading up to the interview and will be accross the street during the interview. Is there anything else I can do at that point other then wait and be there for support. Thanks for all the helpful posts on this forum as well as for making it through this long ramble. I hurriedly put it together before leaving for work in hopes that I may get a couple more last minute ideas that I haven't thought of to strengthen our case.

Luke

ps. wish us luck :)

Your in the Filipino forum. I would advise you that most of what you said is overkill, but almost everyone here has Manila specific experience. I Have heard every embassy is different to some degree so I can't really advise you.

ps. wish us luck :)

You would do a ton better asking this question in the Mexico forum and not the Philippine forum.

You don't need 350 pages worth. Just choose a sampling that spans the past year. Have any screenshots saved from using the webcam over the years? You could print those out too. If you have any actual snail mail letter and cards, receipts from buying each other Christmas, V-day, birthday gifts, etc., then you could use those as well. The rest of what you have sounds good.

I would not bother to get letters from friends. They don't hold much as weight as evidence.

No need for the engagement ring receipt. It is not even a requirement to have a ring at all. If it makes you feel better, you can go ahead and include a copy of the certification and the statement that shows you made the purchase, but that is up to you.

Relax. Be there across the street sending her your love and good thoughts. That is about all you can do while she is in there. Again, take deep breaths, relax, and good luck! :star:
