Hi everyone,

I called USCIS on June 5th about my biometrics letter not receive yet. They put a service request and said to call them back if I would not hear from them in 15 days.

I sent my package on April 24th, 2012. My NOA 1 is dated of April 30th, 2012.

My last Biometrics done for AOS was on May 4th 2010.

I received this answer from them Friday.

The status of this service request is:

A review of U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) records indicates that your biometric information is current, and it is not necessary for you to appear at an Application Support Center (ASC) for a biometrics appointment at this time. The biometrics fee will not be refunded. USCIS will contact you if updated biometric information or any other additional information is needed to process your petition.

If you have any further questions, please call the National Customer Service Center at 1-800-375-5283 .

Please remember: By law, every person who is not a U.S. citizen and who is over the age of 14 must submit Form AR-11 AND notify this office of their change of address, within 10 days from when they move (persons in "A" or "G" nonimmigrant status are exempt from this requirement). To notify this office of a move, visit our website at: www.uscis.gov or call the National Customer Service Center at 1-800-375-5283 . The Form AR-11 can be downloaded from our website or you can call the National Customer Service Center at 1-800-375-5283 and we can order one for you. Instructions for filing the Form AR-11, including mailing instructions, are included on the Form.

Did someone get a letter or email like this before?

It's weird because it's more than 2 years since my last biometrics appointment. Any advice please!

Thank you

Do fingerprints taken for a job count as a biometrict appointment? I remembered I had to take fingerprints and pics for a job in Feb 2012, exactly like what I did for the conditional green card and fingerprints will be effective in 15 months.

Jo&Si, are you sure that you didn't do anything like this recently? I hate this sentence: "The biometrics fee will not be refunded." :bonk:

Thanks for your answers.

I have been traveling back and forth to Canada to help my parents. Everytime I passed at POE, they took my fingerprints. Don't know if this can count?

If they took your fingerprints but didn't take your pic, I don't think it counts. Anyway, I think that letter states very clear that you don't have to take a biometric appointment so you can skip it. Hope that will push your case faster.

You are right! They didn't take any pics so don't really know why I don't have to do biometrics done since it has been more than 2 years.

I guess they will ask for it before sending the new Green Card...hope they won't ask me to pay again for biometrics then!

Thanks for your answer!

Well, if they tell you to pay for biometrics again, you can give them this notice states you didn't get a refund and say "Excuseeeee meeeeee"!:lol:

LOL I will for sure remind them that i have already paid for it...

I am sure I will have a biometrics appointment but I don't know when so it sucks for vacation time! I would not know when they will send the appointment letter. We are planning to drive to Canada together for 3 weeks in August!

Anyway it's weird that I don't have to pass it...

Thanks again for your answers!

In case you miss the appointment, you can go to a USCIS local office and show them the appointment letter together with the notice about skipping biometrics. Tell them that "You told me that I don't need to do biometrics then why do you change your mind?" In that case, they should schedule another appointment for you. However, if that is an interview appointment, you should not miss it because you don't have any paper to cover you

Yes for sure I kept a copy of this notice.

We are moving also on July 9th so I will fill the forms for address changes and also call them after to make sure they change it in my file. I will ask again for Biometrics and see what they will say. Don't know if it would be useful to tell them about our August vacation?

I really don't understand why I don't have bio to do because they need new pics for the green card eventually...Just hope it won't give me problems later...

Thanks again

We did not get a notice for BIO either, I called Tier 2 ISO, she stated BIO current due to I 90 in September of 2012, (they are good for 15 months). She did not mention a refund, so the only negative is a non track-able receipt number. Oh yea the waiting.

In Arizona its hot hot hot.
