I am new here so not sure if i am posting in the right spot or not... My husband went to his interview on June 5th. he was called to the first window and he checked in gave his passport and 2 pictures and they asked if he had been to another country before. My husband replied NO cause he had not and the guy then returned some documents they did not need, like extra bar code cover sheets, the copy of my updated passport with his last name, copy of my child support income, they did keep my other income verification...we do have a joint sponsor...He was then seated and then called to the english window and they did his finger prints and had him sign part 2 of application of visa. She began to ask questions about before we met and when and how and my husband answered all with no hesitations. But she was trying to talk to him fast in english, my husband could understand her just fine and answered all the questions right and even told more about me then asked like my meds and my youngest has autism. they was more worried about how we met and in first visit we married. ( not to be rude but what do they think only rich people can fall in love, sorry we dont have a lot of money for flying a lot back and fourth at 1700.00 a trip), and i understand where they are coming from, but my first thought is i seen a lot of americans fly to las vegas met someone and marry after 2 hours...lol... We have spent everyday together online with webcam since the day we met even at night we have webcam. He brought in picutres of our wedding in an album she looked at them very quickly like a machine spitting out money or something, only stop and looked at a couple of them. Then she gave them back, he also had 140 pictures of my 2 visits, they kept those and all of his conversations with me, mom and my best friend and a few other family members and a lot of emails too...She tried all kinds of trick questions but he would stop her and correct her, when that did not work, when she was looking at our wedding album she asked is ur family happy, he replied yes and she then started talking really fast in english "oh because u r going to america and going to do this and that and and and" i mean so fast that someone who has always spoken english could not understand her, so my husband stopped her and said "no no no let me talk plz" and replied with a different view of why he is wanting to going to america. The interview was about an hour long and after she gave him his passport back and our original marriage certificate in arabic not the original translated one they kept it. She said we need to check ur pics and all conversations and that they would call him. He asked if everything was ok because he needed to let me know the decision she replied with " Me too i dont know we need to check ur pics and conversations more" She did tell him at the end of interview that he does speak very good english, he said ty and left....... I tried to be as detailed as possible with this so maybe some of you can give us some feedback on what u think. we try to keep a little laughter and positive hope going, just so we dont get stuck in full depression. we heard this was hard but not to worried because we are a real marriage, but we did not prepare ourselves for something like this...So plz any feedback would be greatly appreciated.

How long had you been communicating with your fiance online before you married on your first visit? I think this is where the issue is going to be for the Consulate.

They didn't deny him outright so you are undoubtably in AP which will seem to take forever. You can call NVC and see if they will confirm that for you. You should expect 6 months to hear from them.

This will not be over quickly. You will not enjoy this.

Agreed with Crossed Fingers' statements above. Good luck to the OP. It is likely that he will be called after they've reviewed the evidence you provided them. In the meantime you can also email the consulate and say you understand they are reviewing the evidence and you will be happy to provide additional evidence if it will be helpful for them to make their decision.

alas, it's the DoS Hotline that can answer this question, not NVC.

Sometimes my language usage seems confusing - please feel free to 'read it twice', just in case !
Ya know, you can find the answer to your question with the advanced search tool, when using a PC? Ditch the handphone, come back later on a PC, and try again.

This sounds incredibly similar to our experience. My husband's first interview was full of trick questions, for example, she asked him what I have done in my 29 years of life, at the time I was only 26 so he corrected her by saying that his wife is 26. She then went on to tell him that he doesn't know my age and knows nothing about me. My husband stayed firm in stating and restating my birth date and even offered to show her my birth certificate because he of course brought a copy. After hearing how the interview went we were very nervous. I called the consulate the day after his interview and asked why we were denied, they explained that we weren't and were just in AP. Our AP lasted about 5 weeks if I remember correctly and then he was called in for a second interview. The second interview was extremely nice and easy. She asked him to tell her about me and after a few seconds said it was enough. I, of course, called the consulate immediately after his interview and was told that he should stay in Casa because he would be issued the visa the next day.

My recommendation to you is to call them daily and be as nice and sweet on the phone as you can to whoever answers. Just explain that you just want to follow-up on the case and tell them how much you appreciate their help. I talked to the same person almost every day and he ended up being very forth coming with information for us.

I agree but I also think with Casa, it's safer to have emails with the consulate so everything is in writing. Part of our experience was that the Moroccan employees who answered the phones did not always have correct information, and there's no way to hold them accountable to the information they tell you over the phone, but if you have it in email/writing you have a record of it.

We actually had no luck having people respond to e-mails which is why I would just call. I think the important thing for them to see is that you are involved and are not backing down from this. Whether you choose to e-mail or call, just find the method that gets you noticed.
