I think I would take them at their word about the reason being not knowing each other for long enough. That seems, to me, to be a legitimate reason that they would send someone's petition back. It is definitely one of the big red flags.

I agree Jenn and I think they need to provide some concrete proof regarding the validity of their relationship.

I think it would be helpful to know what proof they had to begin with and if he actually got the chance to present it to the officer.

I know Private has mentioned before that they also have communication issues (language) so did the consular ask about that and did you submit enough proof to show that you are communicating well?

I know this is a painful process but in order to get past this hump you need to stay strong (easier said than done).

I don't see why people are so upset. No one has said anything mean towards Private. We have all wished her the best. She posted about her interview and we are asking questions to figure out what happened. I'm sure she is trying to find out what happened as well.

I agree with you Jenn if they told him that then that must be it, At least they gave him a reason, usually they don't even do that.

One comment? I think I've seen more than that!

It is VJ math. ;)

Nah it's poor reading skills or selective reading at it's best... :hehe: Anway... I didn't mean to start a cat fight.:ot2:

Thank you, that was very big of you to admit to having rounded down on the number of comments you made.

My heart breaks for them too.

Once again it sounds the the big "D" word! (discrimination)

If we dismiss every case as discrimination then we will not find the real reason for the denial. This is crucial to getting her case turned around. :star: I realize that you had a bad expericance with Casa, but that doesn't mean its always discrimination.

I am not dismissing it by any stretch! Of course she needs to get the reason the CO denied them. But it is discrimination non the less.

Definition: discrimination>>>Definition:

1. treating people differently through prejudice: unfair treatment of one person or group, usually because of prejudice about race, ethnicity, age, religion, or gender

This Casa. We were discriminated due to he being Moroccan and my age. There were NO CONCRETE evidence to deny us a visa!!!! Quite plain and simple. Since it happened to us I have found the same thing happening to many other couples so it does seem to be a tread.

Exactly she needs to get the reason before you play the discrimination card and scare the hell out of all the couples that are waiting for their interviews. So far the reason we know is they have not known each other long enough which has NOTHING to do with discrimination. Don't pass off the bitter taste in your mouth to others.

True, I agree too. Is there a time frame one needs to know their SO?

There are more success stories than denials. And I am willing to deal with it because I want my Moroccan! :P In fact I would go through it 100 times over to get him here. What we need to do here is understand the whole process, Charges based on speculation are not helping anyone including Private.

As far as I know Erica and Yassin are both Muslim and the only difference is that she is not of an Arab origin. The belief system is the same with only cultural differences, so with that in mind shouldn’t the consulate look closely at all the aspects when examining all of the potential red flags. I thought that it is common for Muslims to be introduced by family member so I think that this would not be a problem in their case.

It breaks my heart when a denial comes along, when bad things happen to good people and when one is not sure 100% of what went wrong…

Dorothy

Dorothy,

I think what could potentially be the issue is that arranged marriages are usually done between people of similar backgrounds. Families choose someone they feel shares similar values, traditions, and most often the same ethnicity. While not a set in stone rule, traditional arranged marriages are rarely cross-cultural. Part of the concept of arrangement is sort of preserving what existed in your family before.

Maybe it just seems that the denials are unusuallay high because the number of active folks here going through Morrocco is high?

This is 100% accurate all over the ME.

I'd say there is some truth to this statement. Also I have yet to see as case with no red flags gets a 221g.
