Insha'allah everything will be fine. The consulates won't let you take your phone inside, so he's probably still waiting/in the process, and can't call you or answer your calls right now. But I'm sure you will be hearing something from him very soon.

Hang in there.... we're all cheering for you !

We were denied.

they asked a lot questions and they denied.

But what do you mean by "denied"? Was he given a 221g where it states that the case is being sent back to Washington due to questions about the validity of the relationship?

Posted
yes, they say we have not known each other long enough.

Are they saying that this marriage is a fraud because you are plunging into marriage too quickly? Or was ti a questions of wanting to see more evidence of an on-going relationship? I know you are upset, but if you can help us with the details we can try to help you turn this around. (F)

I've heard others talk about getting a turn around at the consulte level before it leaves Casa. I wish I had more experience to help you move in the right direction now. Have you contacted your Senators or Congressman? Do you have other evidence that you could pull together?

Good luck and we are here with you.

yes, they say we have not known each other long enough.

In itself, that cannot justify a denial.

So he received a 221g stating that the case will be sent back to USCIS ? If so, you will have a chance to appeal and present further evidence of your relationship. Others have faced a similar situation, and managed to overcome all obstacles.

But what was the exact wording on the 221g ?

We have returned you application and petition to the Department of Homeland Security's Citizenship and Immigratino services. Any further inquires to your application and petition can be directed to their attention and the CIS office. They asked him question for over an hour and they told him that we have not known each other long and how does he know that I wear hijab. I am not sure I called they will not answer and the few that do not help you.

Okay now is the time to take some action. Take a deep breath and send a well organized, but not emotional e-mail to the Consulate. CC your Senator's or Congressman's office. If you have not made contact with your representatives, go to their website, find a local office and ask to talk to the person that handles immigration issues.

Even if you can not turn it around at teh consulate level, you will want to be ready to appeal the denial. You will need to organize your evidence. Can you hire a lawyer at this point?

I am struggling to give you something to hold on to...you will get through this, God willing. The important thing is not to let this shock of the denial interfer wit what you need to do now.

Stay in touch with us and remember we are here.

All good advice.

Call the Consulate immediately (if they are closed, send off an email, and then call first thing in the morning Morocco time.) INSIST on speaking to someone with authority -- a consular officer or higher.

Also, it's important to contact your congressional/senate rep TODAY. Give them all info including your Case #. If you can, make a personal visit to their office. Bring all your evidence and immigration paperwork. They can often help.

Where is MaryandAtif ? They went through this and got it turned around fast.

We are all here for you, Private... we'll do everything we can to help you.

I am so sorry for you but these ladies are right. You have to act now! Don't give up. You must react quickly and see if you can get this turned around while your file is still at the consulate. Good luck, you'll be in my prayers.

Erica,

I still can’t believe what I am reading…this is crazy…but as other ladies have mentioned it is not the end of the world…If you are willing to keep up the fight you can get your petition reexamined and approved…it will be a lot of hard work but I know that there are few ladies that found themselves in similar situation and are fighting for their relationships…Please contact KIYA and Chiquita…I think both of these great ladies will be able to provide you some insight as to your options at thins time…

My heart goes out to you…and I am praying that things will work out. Jamal also sends his regards and his words of support.

I am here for you…Love

Dorothy

Its not the end of the road, but it is a long journey. I am sorry to say you have now joined our group. But keep in mind, if you can contact your congressman/senator, and convince them of your case there is a slight possibility that they can contact the consulate and get this turned around before they send it back.

There are a few things you need to keep in mind here. They are going to tell you that they have already returned the petition, don't believe them. They told me that they sent ours back the same day as the interview but when I finally got the registry number of the diplomatic pouch that they sent it in it turned out that they held it in Casa for 2 more months.

You are lucky to have gotten out of them the fact that they think you haven't known each other long enough, they didn't divulge anything to many of us that have had our petitions returned. You must start going through your head now for ALL of your red flags not just that you haven't known each other long enough. Be prepared to address every one of them with as much physical evidence as you can.

Being sent back because you haven't known each other very long is very lame, and they know it. I am convinced that they do this when they think the marriage is a fraud but they don't have anything concrete. I think what happens is that the true marriages stay together through this lengthy processes and the fraud one disolve quickly. This is their way of determining the truth without doing the legwork.

There are many many more steps to follow in this process, but the above mentioned is top priority right now.

Now the most important thing to remember is that of our group 2 have now been given the visa and are finally together. My petition has been reaffirmed and we are waiting for a second interview in Casa, so don't give up hope! You need to be strong for this, and keep up your fighting spirit!

'Life should NOT be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in an attractive and well preserved body, but rather to skid in sideways - Chardonnay in one hand - chocolate in the other - body thoroughly used up, totally worn out and screaming 'WOO HOO, What a Ride'

Agreed that this is probably too true, but it is a sad way to sort through fraud and real relationships.

Anyway I am glad for Private you and others having been through this are here for her. Today is going to be a hard day. (F)
