I received the biometrics notice and i must reschedule. I can see on the letter how to do this but does anyone know if this will slow down the time it will take for my EAD to arrive?

Yes it will slow down an EAD or AP applications that you have submitted since they cannot be issued until your biometrics is completed. It will also slow down your AOS (I-485) since they cannot do a fingerprint check on you.

Have you thought of doing a walk-in biometrics? I did that in Atlanta, as others have done throughout the US, with no issues

One of the May applicant did have to reschedule but he was lucky to have it booked for the very next day. I would suggest an early walk-in but don't wait past your scheduled date.

Try the walk in, go to your appointment no matter what, you will be there less than an hour.

You can also schedule an InfoPass appointment. Those are pretty quick, and they will let you go ahead and do your biometrics.

Yeah, try a walk-in. The letter is your entrance into the door. We had two different dates for the AOS and EAD, with the EAD being 3 weeks later. Did them both on the same day. EAD was approved in two weeks and delivery is to be within 30 days. Also here in Atlanta!

I rescheduled mine, for a totally different field office too. Original date was Feb 2nd, rescheduled date was feb 27th and I had my EAD 5 days later. I still AOS'd within the expect time frame too.
