Sorry for the long post but....

I got an email from NVC this morning, saying that i needed to submit my ds260 electronically, i have submitted all my paperwork traditionally up to now, and as my wife is English and we will be using the London embassy we had all along thought that London did not do electronic ds260. So we are extrememly confused by this and of course it being the weekend there is no one in NVC to answer any questions til monday. Does any one know of any one else having to file ds260 for london?

The email they sent had three links on it...the only one that sort of might say we need to submit this way is a bit confusing....

http://travel.state.gov/visa/immigrants/info/info_5164.html

on this link we do fall into the first criteria, namely

The petition was approved in the U.S.; and

The application is being processed by the National Visa Center (NVC); and

The application is:

Family based (Form I-130 petition); or

Employment based (Form I-140 petition); or

For certain special immigrants (Form I-360 petition); or

For an immigrant entrepreneur (Form I-526 petition).

Our petition (I130) was approved, and our application is being processed by NVC, and it is an application for family based visa, but i am not clear if this is also only if you meet these criteria AND you are going through the embassy list that follows it, which as London is not on it, we are not.

Any ideas???? Of course i will call first thing their time monday but this really ruins my weekend.

Here is the email....

______1 - IMMIGRANT VISA APPLICATION PART 1:_______________________

The Embassy / Consulate where you will be interviewed requires you to submit an electronic DS-260

Immigrant Visa Application to be eligible for a visa interview. If you previously submitted, or were

instructed to submit a physical copy of the Application for Immigrant Visa and Alien Registration, form

DS230, the U.S. Embassy/Consulate where your interview will be scheduled no longer accepts this form.

You will find instructions for submitting the required forms and supporting civil documents at

http://travel.state.gov/visa/immigrants/info/info_3190.html

Please visit the website www.immigrantvisas.state.gov and select the link "Establish communication

with the NVC and register an address or agent" to complete your online DS-260 form. Click on the name

of the U.S. Embassy/Consulate where your interview will be scheduled and follow the instructions.

To avoid delaying your visa(s) we urge you to send the required supporting civil documents, for all

applicants, together in a single submission as soon as possible after submitting the DS-260.

Your case may be involved with paperless processes for submitting forms and documents. At this time,

the availability of paperless processing is limited to selected U.S. Embassies and Consulates. A list of

participating Embassies and Consulates can be found at:

http://travel.state.gov/visa/immigrants/info/info_5165.html

On none of these links does the London embassy appear. And when i log into the CEAC website portal, (where i am directed to at one point, (where we pay our IV and AOS bills), the link for IVAPP which after much searching is where one who would file electronically if you are required to do so, is a blank grey, it is not a link it is dead, which it says it will be if you havent paid yet, (mine shows paid) or if you dont file electronically.

Please does any one have any idea? Has any one heard of any one else receiving a wrong email? I would have thought surely they computer system is linked up enough to realize that just by my NVC number which begins with "LND...." it wouldnt allow it to send this email if it was true that i needed to do a DS260, but i have also never heard of any one interviewing in London needing a DS260. I am so confused here....

Any help??

thanks

Zac and Sian

i suggest you call up NVC on Monday (when they are open) and inquire .

Sometimes my language usage seems confusing - please feel free to 'read it twice', just in case !
Ya know, you can find the answer to your question with the advanced search tool, when using a PC? Ditch the handphone, come back later on a PC, and try again.

OP, that is extremely weird! Those in London are not eligible for online forms (DS-260), as stated on this link: http://travel.state.gov/visa/immigrants/info/info_5165.html

I'd suggest to call up NVC asap on Monday and inquiring about this.

If you end up needing to file the DS-260 (for whatever bizarre reason), the portal to sign into and complete it is here: https://ceac.state.gov/IV/Default.aspx
