I hope you not talking about Zardari lol...

Dear God please don't tell me we place blame based on party association..... president's rarely have the ability to make a change in the economic conditions of the national specially when houses are not in his favor or support his actions. The end!

My favorite method is to volunteer with the local Chamber of Commerce. Volunteer for as many events in a month as they can have you - the other folk there are businessmen in the community - it's a great way to meet the locals.

Is this true? Does this method work?? I'm happy that I got my visa in hand finally but already so depressed and anxious about finding a job.

Volunteering a great way to meet and connect with people. Another idea is to volunteer at hospitals. They have a very active volunteer program. If you go to the website of the hospital in your area they usually have contact information about how to volunteer.

Yes, it's true.

The method works.

A president may only have limited abilities to actually get you a job. However, he is at the helm of the ship.

This difference between President Reagan, President Kennedy and President Obama,,, all three had inherited terrible

economies, Reagan and Kennedy provided inspiration, optimism and bostered the American peoples sense of pride to

move us forward. Obama for the most part is detached, does not inspire (these days) and places too much blame.

And thinks the goverment is the solution.

Remember, goverment policies placed us in the ditch (both parties).

I am not sure who is going to provide the proverbial tow-rope,,, but, I promise you it is not Obama or the

status-quo.

At this critical time in our countries history, we need political courage. Put your country first, not your party or your job.

Democratic, Republican or Independent. If we all break with party affiliations and vote based upon that that simple principle,

you may not always get what you want,,, but, the country and our childrens future will be better for it.

Regards,

dc

I really did mean 'Senator Obama' - you know, you remember - when Obama was a Sentator out of Illinois. He had already hooked into the party machine in Chicago by that time, and there was lots of shennanigans going on.

Move forward to now, well, it's the outcome of those 'local' shenanigans done, way back when, in Illinois and Chicago.

Sorry that I wasn't clear.

We lived about 45 mins away from Chicago before and I got tons of interview in the city but when I thought I almost get the job, I am always the second pick, but I guess because most of my current experiences were from Philippines. I got frustrated and I applied on neighbor states, and got job (exactly same position I applied in Chicago). The opportunity was way better in other state, so we relocated and my husband resigned from his job(his salary isn't enough as tax keeps climbing every year) in IL and went back to school. After more than a year, he got better job in southern IL that closer to our place.

We still have condo in IL that we can't sell as market is really bad. We paid more on tax there than in our house right now that is bigger and is single detached home. The way of living here in our new place is cheaper than in IL.

By the way, it took me a year to get a job in my field of expertise in other state. Now, I am getting offers from the companies I applied before in Chicago, too bad they didn't give me chance before, I even asked the lowest salary they can offer for the position. Though, moving out of Illinois is the right decision for me and my husband, the only sad part is we're too far from his family and friends.

Lifting Condition (I-751)

09/09/2011 - Sent the package to CSC

09/13/2011 - CSC received the package

09/15/2011 - CSC cashed check and NOA1 Received

09/26/2011 - Biometrics Appointment Notice Date (Sent)

10/13/2011 - Early Biometrics

10/19/2011 - Biometrics Appointment

10/26/2011 - GC expiration

11/25/2011 - Received RFE

11/28/2011 - Sent response to RFE

01/13/2012 - Ordered card production (Approved)

01/19/2012 - 10 yrs GC received

Congratulations on the brave move. I hope you guys can unload that condo soon. If it weren't for the fact that I've been at my job for over 20 years and I really like the company I work for, we would have moved out of Illinois a long time ago.

One of the jobs that always works in Chicago is driving cab especially if you are from pakistan. Now you don't have to own the cab license (its outrageously expensive) but you can drive the cab for people who own cab medallions. The cabs need to run 24/7 and its pretty decent money. I had a roommate who used to drive cab part time in Chicago while he was in college. Paid for his out of state tuition and other expenses. Worth a try. Good luck

Hey guys just want to encourage the people looking for jobs, Yes market is tough and even tougher for immigrants... work ethics are quite different from many other countries comparatively!

One of my previous jobs was to hire a large number of people for seasonal employment. Just an fyi there are many skilled people unemployed at the moment many whom are over qualified. Best thing to land a job is tailor your resume to mirror the job requirements... no one cookie cutter application will not work for various jobs!

I could go on with this forever... anyways I think someone mentioned this earlier... it is true who you know makes a big impact 70% of jobs are being landed by reference right now. So make connections and use them!

Feel free to PM me if anyone wants some advice, or assistance in looking over a resume.

help me in builidng a resume as per US job market:) msg me then
