So i made a mistake when we submitted my stepsons visa application, we accidently listed under age 15 when he is actually 14 and will be 15 in august

all documentation sent in is correct included birth certificate and copy etc. i emailed NVC and explained the mistake, and if they could make the correction of the age from 15 to 14. my question is will i have to re submit everything again? i dont have the originals because i sent them in with the applications. or would they maybe just ask me to re send in another DS230. or just make the correction as a note. any ideas??

thanks

what i recomend you do is send a notarized letter to NVC explaining the situation, also complete only the page were the error was made, send both documents to NVC via registered mail this way you have proof.

I had a similar situation but with a document that was dated wrong and i noted the correction the same way i am letting you know and there were no further issues. (remember everything goes to your case file)

I hope this helps

Maybe you can try sending an e-mail to : NVCInquiry@state.gov

case number on the subject line

name of petitioner and date of birth

name of beneficiary and date of birth

explain them the situation on the body of the e-mail

and then you can scan that part of the form and send to them

and/or

send them like a continuation sheet

stating it is a correction

including the item #

date and your signature

I have already emailed them with the info and what happened with an explination that it was a typo and asking if a correction would be possible.
