The earliest you can send the I-751 petition is 06/24/2012, not before.

Passport pictures are only for those applying from overseas due to military or government orders.

If this is not you, you don't need to send pictures. They will take your picture at the biometrics appointment.

Agreed. You will receive an appointment to go to your closest USCIS service center after you send in the 751. At the USCIS you will have digital pics and fingerprints taken. Then comes the hard part........the wait. We have been waiting 7.5 months now. Current schedule for the Vermont center is over 8 months (groan).

Your GC will expire before you receive the new card. Before this happens the USCIS will send you an official letter stating your old card expiration date is extended 1 year. You need to keep this letter in the event you are stopped or questioned about your status (especially if you travel by air).

Passport copies are not necessary

Other Suggestions if you have them:

Joint bank account

Loans cosigned together

Joint health insurance

Retirement plans with each other as beneficiary

Joint credit cards

Car title (s)

Also IRS transcripts are preferred for tax returns :)

Good luck!
