Moved from IR-1/CR-1 Process & Procedures to China regional forum; topic is specific to EP cases that will be going through the US Consulate in Guangzhou.

**Organizer hat off**

Do we still need to wait until we receive the DS-3032 in the email from NVC before we can send in the OPTIN email?

I strongly suggest and recommend waiting until the Affidavit of Support invoice has been received in your email inbox before sending the OPTIN email. I read the experiences of two other VJ members (Palladin & Foobaz) who sent the OPTIN email prior to receiving the AOS invoice, their cases ended up in a no-mans land and they spent at least a couple of weeks trying to move things forward. Darnell knows of many more instances of this happening to others who sent the OPTIN prior to receiving the AOS invoice so I have also seen him tell others to wait for this "timetick" before sending the OPTIN email. To quote Darnell, when the AOS invoice is in your email inbox, the NVC has flipped a switch to ready for intake of documents.

waves Hullo

At this stage, prior to getting the 'ds-3032 kit' in yer email in box, have the USCitizen Petitioner call NVC daily, and ask for the AOS Fee Bill to be emailed out.

If the USCitizen Petitioner has the IIN , it's still OK to pay at the NVC Online Payment Portal, but for OPT IN 'tag' with the casefile, I strongly recommend to wait on opting in, till the AOS FEE BILL is in the USCitizen Petitioner's email inbox.
