Hello fellow members,

I had my N-400 interview scheduled last June 7 and eventhough i received a cancellation letter few weeks before that day..i still went to the USCIS Atlanta office on the day of my interview( june 7th).

There were no government employees there except for the security guards telling the applicants who came there for their interview that it was cancelled.

Today i called the USCIS customer service center about my interview being cancelled and i was told the same thing to just wait for the rescheduling letter.

My questions are:

1. With the interview being cancelled would it cause any problems in the future?

2.Would it affect my eligibility for citizenship?

3. What should i do now? Should i just wait for that reschedulling letter they told me to come in the mail?

I am just worried about this ,anybody had gone through this same interview being cancelled?

4. How long before we will have our interview again? any ideas?

Thanks.

It won't harm you. Call them and get a new date if you don't hear from them in the next 90 days.

It is USCIS cancelling the interview for whatever reason they have but one that is is not related to your case. They wouldn't be cancelling all interviews if it would be related to your case. Nothing bad is gonna happen to your case because of this. Just wait few weeks for a new letter and call them in case nothing happens.

I had my N400 interview scheduled on June 18. I showed up despite receiving "This is to advise you that, due to unforeseen circumstances, we have had to cancel the previously scheduled interview" letter the week prior. There were about 100 people in the waiting room when I arrived. Within 10 of arriving at the checking-in desk I was called and was told: "I am a supervisor here. The computer made an error! You have been double booked and we would not be interviewing you today. You will receive a new interview date by mail." Very matter-of-fact treatment...... Guess, I should just sit tight.
