Hi, I

recently applied for the citizenship have already filled my application but just noticed a thread on the forum for traffic tickets.

in the application i said no to ever cited but i have a pending speeding ticket goin 21mph over the speed limits which is 6 points ticket.

did i have to mention that in my application ?

i'm fighting that ticket which has court date in oct this year.

i put NO to that section in the application because i thought it was under the CRIME section and i think traffic violations are VIOLATIONS not the crime right ?

moreover i'm a driver by profession and i drive all the time so this is for sure that i'll keep on getting tickets.

what do you guys think i made a mistake or i should tell them on the interview that i have a pending ticket ?

please suggest.

6 points

You have to bring all papers to interview, and CO will correct it. Personally, I went to DMV, Traffic court, IRS tax transcript to collect all papers to avoid any hack-up.

i got this

http://www.uscis.gov/files/form/n-400instr.pdf

go to page 5 and see this

"Note that unless a traffic incident was alcohol or drug related, you do not need to submit documentation for traffic fines and incidents that did not involve an actual arrest if the only penalty was a fine of less than $5 or points on your driver's license. "

very simple even though my ticket is pending it could cost me 6 points and $195 fine.

no problems whatsoever but the question is do i need to tell the officer that i have a pending speeding ticket ?

You should mention. personally I would. Even it said so, but you know how USCIS works right. If your CO has a bad day, you will be asked about papers, if you don't have it this will cause a delay. Over prepared that's what I mean.
