What happens if there is war?

So my wife is Azerbaijani. Just submitted off the I-129F which says possible approval sometime in January. When the interview time does come, she has to interview in Tblisi, Georgia - the US consulate in Baku doesn't do the interviews.

I was there over the summer and Georgia-Russian relations were constantly on the news there. Now it's broken into the international news here in the States and things look rather heated. I don't know where this will be in four months time.

What happens if it becomes a conflict zone or unsafe to travel? Do we just get to wait because Russian and Georgia can't get along?

jassan,

Baku and Tbilisi are both Embassies, not Consulates.

With that said, your question is best answered by the Consular section in Tbilisi.

From my experience working in Embassies, when circumstances within a country shut down an Embassy or preclude them from providing normal services, they will transfer those operations to another country. Give them a call as your approval gets closer.

Seems that way, K-3 in his profile. :)

Yes, we are married. We are pursuing a K3 visa. Thanks for the input on emerging political situations. Hopefully there is no impact in any ways pertaining to my situation or the citizens caught up in the crisis between the two nations.
