Did a quick search, didn't find anything...

So David is taking a trip to see his parents in early July for 2 weeks. We *should* get the NOA1 extension letter by his trip time, but if not, is he okay to travel? His green card will expire in mid-September. Is there a minimum number of months you need on a green card to be valid when traveling outside the US? And/or does having an I-751 pending but no NOA1 show up to the customs people who invalidate his green card?

Just trying to be prepared for all the possibilities...worst comes to worst, he doesn't go and we eat the $$ because I am not about to be separated from him for another year on a CR1! :bonk:

if he travels within the validity of his green card, it's fine! we are just back from a vacation in Mexico, and i had no problem going back to the US, though the officer pointed out that my card would expire soon. i simply replied that i knew and that i had sent my application just before leaving for this trip. He had nothing to add and let me go.

hope this helps!
