T&T Passport & Birth Certificate

Hi,

My husband's passport expires in Jan 2013 but he is going to apply for a new one because I think it has to have at least 8 months (I'm not sure but someone can correct me). I want to send of the DS 230, could I still use the current passport he has or do I have to wait till he gets the new one?

For my T&T family how long does it take to renew your passport and is there locations where you can get it back same day or in a week?

Also, looking at the new Birth Certificate issued by the T&T, my husband's last name is not on there. It only shows his First and Middle. Is this correct? If not, I will need him to go get it change.

Use the [current] passport that he has at time of filling. After all, after he renews [the passport] you will still have the old one if USCIS wants to see it.

The birth certificate should have his full name on it, the 1st one is free but since they seem to have messed up maybe he can get it for free.

You should let him call or go 1st thing on monday moring and start to see about these important things. Trinidad tends to take there time to do something. Also let him explain his situation and see when he can get a passport appointment (he will need the birth certificate to get the passport).

With respect to the Passport and the current biographic page, yes you can send that because the passport is still valid. In the mean time you can let him go to the passport office in his destrict and have him apply for a new one. For a speedy passport you will pay $750 TT and should get in in 7 days, for a regular passport application will be $250TT and 3 months waiting roughly give or take. i believe the high volume of applicants for passports have deminished.

To apply for a passport in Trinidad and Tobago the applicant must have the electronic birth certificate. this certificate will have all first names and sir name of the person. If there is a problem with the spelling of the name or an error thereof you will be required to get an affidavits to ammend. An affidavits for this range in the vicinity of $75TT to $150TT depending on where you get it done. The registra of births and deaths will take roughly 3 months to work on this. I do hope the information here help.
