if your husband has received a letter from NVC then you can call this number to follow up if your case is already in manila US EMBASSY MANILA Immigrant Visa (IV) inquiry line at
(632) 301-2000, extension 5184 or 5185 ...and yes you`ll be notified by mail that they received it already and you are eligible to scheduled and have your medical already.

if you have a MNL case number assigned already then you can have your medical and call the embassy number. Ask them if your case is already in their system and if it is then you can pay the visa fee at BPI BANK...
Yes its the same..

GOOD-LUCK:-).

you don't need to pay BPI. If you have that receipt of payment from NVC that is what you need at the interview.

I have read here http://travel.state.gov/visa/immigrants/types/types_2993.html#4

that if both the petitions (I-130 and I-129F) is approved and sent to NVC or the I-130 is approved before I-129F it is process as IR-1(CR-1) which the VISA FEE is paid thru NVC. But I might be wrong. I hope someone can help that went the same process as yours.

Marissa, relax, your husband is correct. You and your son are in the IR-1/IR-2 line. Your visa fees were paid through NVC. You do not need to pay any other visa fee(s).

NVC invoiced your husband, he paid the IV bill online, then you completed the DS-230 online, printed it out signed part 1 and that was part of your IV package.

K-1's pay the visa fee at BPI -- IR-1's pay the visa fee through NVC.

Good luck with your interview.
