221G Proof of Relationship

My fiance had his interview on June 4th. He was able to answer all of the questions the officer asked. She asked about me, my work, my family and how we met.

My fiance took my phone records from a calling card that I use, pictures and emails. He also had original receipts from the hotel that we stayed at last year in Istanbul and the engagment ring receipt.

At the end of the interview he was given the dreaded 221G form. The officer checked the box that states "proof of relationship between you and your spouse, phone bills, letters, etc." This must be the catch all box for proof of relationship as we are not married.

We have to send these documents to the consulate. My plan is to send at least 30 emails. I have saved about 125 since we first met. Some emails got deleted along the way. He does not sign his emails and they come to me with his email address and not his name. I plan to send some emails from when we first as they have his name. He introduced himself and told me his name.

I have about 7 pictures of us from our Istanbul trip. I did not take alot of pictures. I will send the pictures. I am going to resend the phone records. We also plan to send envelopes from the mail that I sent him. I have not sent much snail mail. It takes 2 weeks to get from here to his house in Turkey. I am also sending a photo copy of the engagment ring receipt again. Chat records were not saved. I am at a loss as how much to send since he already brought proof of our relationship to the interview. I thought phone records, emails, engagment ring receipt, and pictures would have been enough at the interview. I have heard that some people get approved if they show a lot of emails.

Any ideas on what should be sent and am I going about this in the right way?

I think your plan sounds fine. What one Consular Official would approve, another one would not based "on a haunch." This is the perverse way the system works. It is not a court of law. It is not based on real evidence. They ask for checklists and documents. But in the end, if they're going to delay or deny you, then that's what they're going to do no matter how well prepared you are...which isn't to say that a different official wouldn't approve you on the same submission. Luck of the draw. Best wishes!

PS. My fiancee's 221g requested detailed job/educational history going back 10 years...Submitted at intake was a detailed job/educational history going back 10 years. Do you think they even read our documents?

Have him take webcam pics with your family

Do you have a credit card? Can you add him as a joint member?

send whatever you have plus more evidence you can gather now, be aware sending this documents does not means they will issue the visa right away , the embassy might keep him in administrative review for a little longer. I hope you didnt start making plans for your wedding yet.

His family lives in a small village and has no internet. He is not on facebook. He also lives in a village (not with his family) I printed 65 emails, phone log from my calling card, pictures, engagement ring receipt. Some of the same items that were brought to the interview. I mailed them to him. The mail should reach him in about 2 weeks. I live in Colorado and we will self solemnize so there will be no wedding ceremony. At 51 years of age having a ceremony does not seem like a practical way to spend money. Thanks to everyone for the thoughts and suggestions.
