NO I didn't watch the vid, the posted report said he went TO the driveway. The vid, while not really clear suggests he might have gone up the drive which seriously degrades his defense.

At any rate, I think he went there looking for trouble and he thought he would be clever by reciting the lines which he thought would give him just-cause.

I agree. If you watch the video he is extremely rude and confrontational. That is not the way to deal with a bunch of drunkards, that just adds fuel to the fire! To me it seems he had the intention of using the gun before he got there and baited them until he felt it was appropriate to shoot. Also, you can shoot someone without killing them. He would know that as he took a class to get a concealed permit.

If I called the police at midnight and said a loud party is preventing my children from sleeping, they would come. It says he complained all evening to the police but it doesn't say if they came to investigate, which is odd.

both took a gun to a situation where they shouldn't have, both went looking for trouble, both instigated the confrontation and escalated it, both were talking to police dispatch and both had police on the way to the scene, both could have avoided the whole thing just sitting back and waiting for police to arrive. The only things missing in this case are the skittles and the snapple.
