Did you watch the video? It clearly says in the video he walked onto their driveway with a flashlight and a gun.

If he taunted or egged the confrontation on, if he went on their property.... that is one thing but to say a person must hide in the house and wait for police is, in a free country wrong.

To claim that people are not free to walk a public sidewalk to avoid others from acting like criminals is silly.

NO I didn't watch the vid, the posted report said he went TO the driveway. The vid, while not really clear suggests he might have gone up the drive which seriously degrades his defense.

At any rate, I think he went there looking for trouble and he thought he would be clever by reciting the lines which he thought would give him just-cause.

Indeed , the words the shooter so strategically uses are practically verbatim from the stand your ground law. It's so obvious it's ridiculous. But the really sad thing is that he could have simply waited for police to ask the neighbors to turn it down- and now several lives lost in senseless shootout wounding two people including a COP and killing an elementary school teacher.

It is similar to the Zimmerman case in the respect that he took the law in his own hands and lives were lost for no good reason at all.

both took a gun to a situation where they shouldn't have, both went looking for trouble, both instigated the confrontation and escalated it, both were talking to police dispatch and both had police on the way to the scene, both could have avoided the whole thing just sitting back and waiting for police to arrive. The only things missing in this case are the skittles and the snapple.
