Timeline

I love looking at the vj timeline for mine and hubby. seeing the dates get closer gets exciting. I was asked by the senators office how does vj know the timeline of this process? she asked where does this information come from? how can they be so sure? I know alot of us look at the timelines too. but know I am asking myself these same questions. does anyone know if the timeline is accurate?

i would like it if you have a testimonial of you accuracy of your timelines. that would be helpful. can you give me your opion of the senators questions.

The timelines come from the reports here of users actually using the system. Just as you've entered your timeline information. I've found them pretty darn accurate in much of what they track.

They're only as accurate as:

1. VJ members' ability to update their timelines. And,

2. The service centers' ability to keep a consitent processing rate.

Since neither of these can be relied upon 100%, the timelines will fluctuate. The timelines are more accurate the closer you get to your NOA2 date. The timelines should be taken with a grain of salt when you first file, but start paying attention to them about 2 - 3 months after intial filing.

Since you filed in February, I'd say your timeline right now is a very good estimate of your NOA2 date.

You can never tell what will happen with an RFE. I got one on the K-1 I sent in for my now wife, and we were approved 6 days after I mailed it. A friend of her's through a facebook group that was formed by people from VJ, replied to their RFE on a K-1 also on almost the same day and it was 2 months before she was approved. Both went through the CSC.

Unfortunately my i130 is at my local office pending standard interview which will NOT be scheduled until they FINALLY take in my evidence. The Washington field office is NOTORIOUSLY corrupt and slow so.... I wouldn't be surprised if my NOA2 came in October at this point :(

Okay nowour timeline is saying that our petition should be adjudicated between june 21 and july 3rd. that is todays date july 3rd. this time line is way off some how. i never heard anything from anyone about my noa2. uscic told me that i really have until August before i should inquire about this matter with them because they have five months to respond to this type of petition. that will be august. so i am wondering what should i do. i was hoping the vj timeline was close to being correct for us.

That timeline guestimate is based on historical averages, and is only accurate when the the service center is operating at its historical average. You're better served to look at the "immigration timelines" page http://www.visajourney.com/timeline/ and you can see the dates on the petitions they are currently working on based on current information. Looks like you're about a month away right now.

okay so now i am way out of processing time. about seven months by tomorrow to be exact. we are clearly not happy with the same old excuses we get. the latest was a service request amd the response from them was for us to wait another 45 days to recieve a noa. it will be 7 months since we heard anything else from them at the uscis. there are people who filed months after we did and they are now almost processed by the nvc already. i just dont get it. how could we fall to the bottom of some so called stack of petitions. they really need a better system.
