Morning everyone, Any Canadians happen to know where I can retrive my husband's (he's Canadian) immunization records? He's 51 years old and both parents are deceased. Just wondered if there was anything online where I could perhaps order it kind of like his birth certificate, marriage certificate, etc.?

Thank you in Advance

From what I remember there is nothing on the computers prior to 2002, so he would have to ask his family physician to see if there is any written record on his file (I did this over the phone). If there is no written record he must repeat them.

Brandi

Edit: for Spelling sheesh.

Brandi is right; check first with his family physician. If they don't have the records, he'll need to go in for a titre test, to check what he's immune to (it's just a blood test, no biggie). I had to do this earlier this year.

I would suggest you get on this right away, as it took a bit for me to get thru it all (three doctor's visits later...) and he'll have to tell the doctor specifically what he's looking for immunity against ie measles, mumps & rubella, hepatitis a&b, tetanus.

Good luck!

Depending on where he lived in Canada, most immunizations are done by a public health nurse at a public health office and the records may be there.

Doctors in Alberta (where I am) do not have records of immunizations and are not even allowed to give some of them.

Rather than try and track them down it would probably be a lot less stress on him if he did as mb3 suggests and get a titre test for all required vaccinations and go from there. Depending on where he lives he may be required to go to a travel clinic for some of them.
