I was reading the portal side of the montreal consulate as to when your interview is set. It read Approx. 4-6 months from the time P3 checklist is sent back.

So if I am reading this correctly, if NVC received the information on June 1, 2012 and let say packet 3 is sent to me by July. Based on what I read, is my interview going to happen between December 2012 & January 2013?

You should check out the Canada forum for Montreal specific information.

It seems that, while Montreal used to be VERY slow, they've picked up the pace a little bit. There are people in the Canada forum saying right now, there are July/August interview dates available, so I don't think the wait is what it once was.

Also, K1s schedule their own interviews.

DO NOT wait for P3 to be mailed to you. Montreal is not predictable at all with this. You need to be proactive and download the stuff from the website on your own and call DOS to confirm they mailed P3 then you mail your completed P3 back to them ASAP.

Your I-129f was approved in 5 days from your NOA1 date.

Your interview took 67 days from your I-129F NOA1 date.

AOS was approved in 2 months and 8 days without interview.

ROC was approved in 3 months and 2 days without interview.

As Inky said, as soon as DOS tells you Packet 3 was mailed to you, mail them your completed Packet 3 forms. Some applicants never received Packet 3 instructions so waiting to actually receive the documents is pointless. However, they need to have it logged as ''mailed'' to accept your forms so wait until it has been sent to you.

You can find the instructions here: http://montreal.usconsulate.gov/visas/visas/fianc-k-1-visas.html

US citizen since April 2016

ROC completed April 2014

AOS from K1 completed February 2012

The # to call to ask about Packet 3 (DOS) is 1-202-663-1225. As others said no need to wait for Packet 3, it takes forever or may never come. Someone already linked the Montreal website, go there and look at what's required for Packet 3 and start getting any documents you might need (ex: birth certificate, renewed passport, police check, etc). When we had sent back Packet 3 we got an interview date within 2 weeks (I cheated and called DOS, didn't get the Packet 4 email but they told me it was sent) for about 2 months out.
