I filed my i129f on dec 23 2011 received my first noa1 on jan 4. My case was approved on may 2 2012. I've call NVC two weeks after I received my NOA2 and they don't have my papers. I call every day it's not in the system. Called USCIS they told me it was sent out. NVC Says they don't have it. I'm going crazy it's been a little over a month this is all so frustrating. Am I still within the timeline for the process from uscis to NVC and how much longer do I have to wait. My girlfriend has everything in order waiting for the interview.

Please anyone shed some light on my situation.

BY THE WAY VJ you guys are the best!!!!!!!

Don't worry too much, it will not get lost! I highly recommend you send an email to NVC asking for case number. Read this link how to do it. http://www.visajourney.com/wiki/index.php/National_Visa_Center

I also had made comments previously on how to contact NVC.

My NOA2 was on the 2nd of April. On the 4th of April I sent an email to NVC requesting case number. 7 days after my NOA2, I called them and got the standard need to wait 2 weeks after NOA2. I just decided not to do anything anymore because the biggest wait is getting that NOA2. Anyhow, on the 11th (9 days after NOA2), I received a response from NVC giving me my Bogota embassy case number. On the 17th, I received an email from the embassy telling me that they received the package. Shortly after receiving the embassy email, I called NVC asking for a status, told them that I have not heard anything concerning my case, well they said that the package left NVC on the 12th, which is the day after I received the NVC assignment of the Bogota case number. They could be behind, getting swamped, but also reading, they also do the "AP".. My recommendation again... send an email requesting the case number. That's it... and wait for a response. Don't send multiple emails.. like some people have done. 1 is enough. Once you have the case number, you can schedule everything!!! Do the embassy appointment, do the doctor appointment, do the flights, do the hotel reservations... then when all is done... Waiting starts again... Good luck... and if you read there are people waiting a lot more than you... Patience.... Patience... It was hard for me... It's not easy...

If your approval letter was dated a month and over and NVC is telling you that they don't have your petition, your case may have been mistakenly sent to National Record Center (NRC) instead of National Visa Center (NVC) by USCIS. National Record center is a storage facility for inactive petition and sometimes cases are mistakenly sent there to keep by USCIS. My case currently fall into that category and NVC has requested USCIS to retrieve the case and send it to them. However, it might take 90 days or more to retrieve the case, review it again to ensure all the documents are enclosed and send the petition. This is definitely a set back but we shall overcome the obstacles. I wish you best of luck with your situation.

I recieved my NOA2 on May 9. I started calling NVC after two weeks went by. This past Friday, June 8, I called and said that a month had gone by now, and they still had nothing to tell me. The person then gave me an e-mail address to send in a request about my case. The e-mail address is nvcresearch@state.gov., they said include a scan of my NOA2 notice, which I did. I did get an automated reply when I sent the e-mail, that they received my e-mail. So now I will see what that does for me. I'm hoping that they are just taking a month or more to get to all the new K1 cases right now. I remember that one of my earlier calls, they did say there was a large influx of cases from USCIS in May..... good luck to all of us waiting .... I almost feel like requesting the leaders of this community take out their wording about "Things move faster now, welcome to the Department of Stete" in the K1 Guide  .....about this stage...

Just spoke to a supervisor at uscis and was told my petition was still there they are still reviewing some things. That my case is not lost or at NRC or any other place.

I was told by somebody last week that when a case is approved it does not mean its fowarded right away to NVC.

I feel better knowing that my case is not lost but still at uscis even after approval

Has this happen to anyone else here.
