Which documents are REALLY needed for a K1 interview

I am almost ready to send all the documents to my fiancee for her K1 interview. But, before I send it I have a question; do I really need to send " A copy of the entire I-129f package (that you made when you sent the petition in) and a copy of information that you sent back due to an RFE (if you received one)."?

I have seen this mentioned on this site and a few others and, while it is great advice, I wonder if it is really important. I am going to provide all of the documents that are listed on the USCIS website:

Applying for a Visa

The consular section at the embassy or consulate where you, the fiancé(e) of an American citizen, will apply for a visa, will tell you about any additional specific requirements that you need to fulfill to complete your visa application, such as where you need to go for the required medical examination. The following is required:

A passport valid for travel to the United States and with a validity date at least six months beyond the applicant's intended period of stay in the United States.

Birth certificate

Divorce or death certificate of any previous spouse for both the applicant and the petitioner

Police certificate from all places lived since age 16

Medical examination (vaccinations are optional, see below)

Evidence of financial support (Form I-134, Affidavit of Support may be requested.)

Two Nonimmigrant Visa Applications, Form DS-156 (A Form DS-156, prepared in duplicate.)

One Nonimmigrant Fiancé(e) Visa Application, Form DS-156K

Two nonimmigrant visa photos (each two inches 50 X 50 mm square, showing full face, against a light background)

Evidence of a fiancé relationship

Payment of fees, as explained below.

The consular officer may ask for additional information according to the circumstances of the case. Documents in foreign languages should be translated.

Take clear, legible photocopies of civil documents, such as birth and marriage certificates, to the interview. Original documents can then be returned to you.

But the fact that I did not make a "copy of the entire I-129f package and a copy of information that you sent back due to an RFE" has me worried. I have copies of most of the information, and I could fill out new forms to send to my fiancee, but I worry about them not being an exact match. And, in truth, it has been quite a while and I don't think that I could create an exact replica of the original packet that I sent in.

So my question is; why should I send all the info from the entire I-129f packet when the Embassy will allready have the original(as sent from the USCIS via the NVC)? Am I incorrect in thinking that it is overkill to send everything that the USCIS lists plus a copy of the entire I-129f aplication package?

Thanks in advance for your advice.

Jason

The bottom line is that it may not be a technical requirement but the CO is not precluded from asking to see a document that may have been a part of the petition. In all likelyhood it will be overkill as nothing will be reviewed, but it is better to be safe than to be sorry? It is truly your call. If you follow the docuemnts requirement that is included in your consulates instructions then you will meet the minimum requirement and most of the time you will be OK.

YMMV

The consulate will have the original submission. It's a good idea to make the copy in case of a lost document or other problem. Also your fiance should know all the info that is on the forms and it might help to refresh his/her memory.

The Consulate can ask to see the original of any copies submitted.

Having a duplicate is a safeguard not necessary. opefully others from your specific consulate can give more specific advice on what your fiance should bring regarding this question.

Good luck on the interview (F)
